LA Clippers v Oklahoma – (Thu, 03:35, BT Sport)

Recommended Bets:-

Oklahoma +4@ 5/6

This is a mammoth match as the on fire Clippers try and hunt down the Thunder in the race for that all-important second seeding in the West. Rather like the Grizzlies, LA have turned over a new leaf since February, winning 18 of 21 and firing up the Western Conference. They also have the best home court record anywhere in the NBA with an awesome 32-6 match-up and a conference record of 34-14….so what is there not to like about them tonight?

The answer is the record breaking Kevin Durant, his recent unbelievable scoring run, now at an end, and his record against the red hot Clippers which is outstanding.

Now that his run of 41 consecutive games with 2 points or more has come to an end, courtesy of a fourth quarter rest against Sac, the pressure will now be off the big man to just play his normal game and with more freedom. His record against the Clippers reads an average of 29 points in 24 match-ups with a massive 42 point haul the last time these two teams met at the backend of February.

Oklahoma will have to be wary of Chris Paul, allowed to rest for much of the second half as the Clippers mauled fellow LA urbanites the Lakers. They will need to limit the space he works in not just hitting the net, but his assists across the final third of the court.

From a betting perspective it is an intriguing match-up and on balance the Clippers are rightly favourites on form and I suppose on previous meets, but the value lies in the handicap.
