Portland -8pts@ 10/11
Pau Gasol could well be the difference between these two sides as whichever team gets their noses on the board as far as rebounds are concerned is almost certainly gonna rule the roost.
And although this has been the nightmare of all nightmare seasons for the Lakers they continue to mess up the play-off intentions of several teams at Staples Center by upping their effort on home court to beat the likes of the Suns and the Knicks so this may not be as straight forward a task as it first looks for the visitors. However, if you find out nearer to tip-off that Gasol will not make it on court then this really should be a shoe in for Portland.
LaMarcus Aldridge continues to worry Portland with his injury status, falling on his back at the weekend, but still managing to see out post 33 minutes on court afterwards.
He has been the key to their renaissance this season and is expected to play tonight. The score is one apiece between these two sides, with the paint retrieval being the significant if not be all and end all of the game. I think Portland will dominate that area as they have done against more physical teams all season and I am quite happy to run with them giving a start-up.
