NBA Finals Tips

The past five Finals MVP awards have gone to either LeBron James or the player whose primary job was to guard him. Cleveland Cavaliers superstar James once again confirmed his plans to one day be an NBA owner this week, in the same week he overtook Michael Jordan in points scored in NBA finals games. His Cavs are underdogs for the first game of the series, with the best available price currently steady at 13/5, although they are as short as 17/10 with BetVictor.

Kevin Durant is perhaps the biggest individual story of this third edition of the Warriors - Cavaliers NBA finals, mainly because he’s the biggest addition to an old matchup; the superstar who forsook Oklahoma City for a chance at holding the trophy. His Warriors are a best price of 9/20 to go one up in the series, and it’s crucial they do because they will be slight underdogs once they hit the road and travel the 2,500 miles east to Cleveland.

What’s your recommended bet?

Under 225.5 Points @ 24/25 - BET NOW

Of the 19 meetings between these teams over the past three seasons (including regular season and playoffs), only once has the total score been over 226.5. And if the series reaches game seven be sure to back unders then too. All five Game 7s of the NBA Finals over the past 25 years have gone under the total. This includes game seven between the Cavaliers and Warriors last season, when the total points was under by 24 points (Cavs won 93-89 with an over/under of 206).

Long shot bet

Cavaliers To Win by 6-10 Points @ 17/2 - BET NOW

If you want a bet that represents good value and has a reasonable shout of landing, then I reckon backing the Cavs to snatch game one by between six and 10 points is the one! Bet365 actually have this margin priced at 9/2, so the 17/2 being offered by BetVictor is a steal!
