American Jared Anderson will get to prove his credentials on the biggest stage this weekend when he takes on Vladimir Tereshkin at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The youngster is starting to make a name for himself on the small-hall shows, and he can put his name in lights when he fights on the undercard of Tyson Fury's third bout against Deontay Wilder.

Jared Anderson vs Vladimir Tereshkin Betting Odds

There's plenty of hype around Anderson, with Tyson Fury's father, John, already claiming he will rule the heavyweight division once his son retires from the sport.

Bob Arum of Top Rank promotes both Fury and Anderson, but the latter has a long way to go before he can even put his name into the same bracket as the 'Gypsy King'.

Despite that, Anderson is the overwhelming favourite for the bout at 1/14, while the draw is 25/1.

Tereshkin has more experience than his opponent, but he has not fought in two years, and as a result, he is available at 8/1 to pull off a shock victory.

Jared Anderson Record

Anderson's career only started in 2019, but he has been a busy boy, racking up nine straight wins, all by knockout.

While the level of opposition can be questioned, Anderson has done everything right so far.

He should have no issue with fighting in Vegas, with five of his wins coming at the MGM Grand, while he beat Stephen Kirnon at the Cosmopolitan hotel.

Anderson's best wins have come against Johnnie Langston, Rodney Hernandez, Kingsley Ibeh and Jeremiah Karpency, but he will need to be at his best when he goes to war with Tereshkin.

Vladimir Tereshkin Record

Russian southpaw Tereshkin made his debut way back in 2007, and he has so far beaten 22 opponents. Twelve of those victories have come inside the scheduled distance, but two of his recent rivals retired on their stools.

A fight on the Vegas strip should not faze Tereshkin, with the 6ft 6inch powerhouse winning in the fight capital of the world back in 2010.

So far in his career, Tereshkin has boxed in Germany, Finland, Russia, America, Ukraine, Latvia and Jamaica, and he will be confident of giving Anderson plenty of problems this weekend.

Jared Anderson vs Vladimir Tereshkin Prediction

Over 3.5 rounds - BET NOW

Anderson has sparred with Fury for the latter's two previous training camps, and if he has learned anything, it will be to take his time against Tereshkin.

The Russian has never lost a bout, and he should prove to be a tough nut to crack. On his PPV debut, Anderson will no doubt be looking for a highlight-reel knockout, but he will need to be wary of his southpaw opponent.

Five of Anderson's wins have come inside the first round, but the value seems to be backing the fight to go past three rounds.

That is not to say that Anderson cannot win inside the distance, but he might have to wait until the later rounds before he starts to look for the knockout.
