Taylor and Serrano battled in the biggest women’s boxing match of all time earlier this year at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Taylor retained her five belts courtesy of a split decision, and now the Irish women’s boxer will now face off with Carabajal rather than wait for the rematch with Serrano.

Taylor is the undisputed lightweight champion, and a win over Carabajal will further her position as one of the best boxers in the sport. Taylor will put her 21-0 record on the line against Carabajal in London. The title challenger has a record of 19-0.

This weekend’s card will also feature an IBF eliminator fight between European featherweight champion Jordan Gill and Kiko Martinez. The winner will likely challenge the IBF champion, Josh Warrington, in 2023.

Katie Taylor vs Karen Carabajal Betting Odds

Katie Taylor is the favourite to win against Karen Carabajal this weekend in London. Taylor held onto her belts in the biggest women’s boxing match of all time against Serrano in April. With a rematch on the cards at a future date, Taylor has taken a fight against Carabajal.

Carabajal has nothing to lose by accepting the fight, but the same cannot be said for Taylor. The Irish fighter could drop the belts if Carabajal can end her 21-match winning streak. Carabajal has an impressive 19-0 record, but many of those wins were against less-than-impressive opponents.

Carabajal benefitted from fighting inferior opposition to stack her record. In addition, Carabajal picked up just two knockouts against the inferior opponents. Taylor will be a major step up in quality for Carabajal.

Katie Taylor Record

Taylor has a professional boxing record of 21-0. She has six knockout wins and 15 victories by decision. Her last eight fights all ended in decisions. Taylor is a skilled fighter and is experienced with going the distance in matches.

Taylor picked up a split-decision win against Serrano in New York City earlier this year. Before she fights Serrano again, Carabajal is the perfect opponent to get back on her feet.

Carabajal has an impressive record, but she hasn’t faced anyone of note. Taylor will look good by defeating an opponent with the impressive win-loss record of Carabajal this weekend.

Karen Carabajal Record

Carabajal has a record of 19-0. She looks extremely impressive on paper, but looking more closely at her record, there are holes to be found. Carabajal has fought several weak opponents throughout her career. The inferior fighters have allowed Carabajal to pad her win-loss record.

The Argentine is taking a massive step up in quality against Taylor. Of course, Carabajal doesn’t have anything to lose by taking this fight. It is Taylor that has everything to lose.

Katie Taylor vs Karen Carabajal Betting Tips

Taylor is a massive favourite ahead of Saturday’s fight in London against Carabajal. The challenger has a strong record at 19-0, but Carabajal is far from the toughest opponent available.

Taylor will use the fight to rebuild herself after the split decision draw with Serrano in April. Taylor’s last five matches went the distance, so don’t be surprised if this fight also goes 10 rounds. Our betting tips prediction is for Taylor to win by decision at odds of 1/3.

Katie Taylor vs Karen Carabajal Prediction

Our betting tips prediction is for Taylor to win the fight against Carabajal and become 22-0 in the squared circle. The win will help Taylor get over the match with Serrano, and prepare her for the rematch down the line.

Beating Carabajal, a fighter with a 19-0 record, will be looking good on Taylor’s CV. Of course, anything can happen in the ring and Carabajal could pull off a shock result. However, it is unlikely to happen versus Taylor on Saturday. The reigning champion should win and stay unbeaten in the ring.
