Kiko Martinez and Josh Warrington face off for the second time and it promises to be an enthralling bout between the pair.

Kiko Martinez vs Josh Warrington 2 Betting Odds

The Leeds Warrior is 2/7 for a repeat victory in his home town on Saturday night. Martinez is rated a 7/2 shot and the draw is available at 22/1.

Kiko Martinez Record

Martinez is as experienced as they come, having racked up 55 professional bouts in a career that started in 2004. La Sensacion has been in with the likes of Leo Santa Cruz, Carl Frampton, Scott Quigg and he of course lost to Warrington at this very venue in 2017.

The Alicante boxer stunned the boxing world when beating Kid Galahad and claiming the IBF world featherweight title last year. That was a huge win for Martinez and he is a dangerous puncher. La Sensacion stopped Galahas in six rounds and 30 of the Spaniard’s 43 wins have come via knockout.

Josh Warrington Record

Warrington has previously held the IBF featherweight title and he successfully defended it against Martinez in 2017. The Leeds Warrior decided to vacate, in order to chase bigger fights in the division, but an unlikely turn of events has handed him the chance to win the title back.

The 31-year-old was beaten by Mauricio Lara in February of last year, and his attention switched, after a clash of heads saw November’s rematch declared a draw. Martinez’s surprise knockout win over Galahad has seen the door for a crack at the IBF belt and Warrington will be hoping for a repeat of his 2017 victory.

The Leeds Warrior has won 30 of his 32 professional contests, but just seven of those have come via stoppage.

Warrington to win by decision or technical decision - BET NOW

odds

This is a tough fight to call. Not many were expecting Martinez to beat Galahad last time out, but the Alicante man managed it and it’s hard to ignore that performance.

Warrington had looked like a boxer on his way to the top, before losing to Lara last year, but that defeat derailed his career.

Warrington should be the fresher fighter, given he has five years on his 36-year-old opponent, but the Leeds Warrior isn’t a heavy-hitter and almost every fight turns out to be a gruelling battle for the home town hero.

Perhaps, Warrington will have a little too much for his veteran opponent and backing the Leeds man to repeat his 2017 points victory over Martinez looks the play.
