Leo Santa Cruz defends his WBA Super featherweight world title against Miguel Flores on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on the undercard of Deontay Wilder's rematch with Luis Ortiz.

Mexican star Santa Cruz is making the fourth defence of his title since winning the belt back from Carl Frampton, while this compatriot Flores' first shot at a world title.

Leo Santa Cruz v Miguel Flores Betting Odds

Leo Santa Cruz to win @ 1/100 - BET NOW

Santa Cruz boasts a record of 36 wins (19 KOs) and just one defeat, a mixed decision loss to Frampton that he avenged in his next fight.

The 31-year-old has since beaten Chris Avalos, Abner Mares and Rafael Rivera and is the huge favourite to win Saturday's clash at 1/100.

Flores made a blistering start to his professional career as his debut some 10 years ago didn't even last a minute before he claimed a stoppage win.  His next two fights followed similar patterns but since then there hasn't been too much to get excited about. Flores was unbeaten in his first 22 fights but then suffered a pair of losses, first to Dat Nguyen as he was stopped in the sixth and then to Avalos as his corner retired him in the fifth round.

It would be a monumental shock for the 27-year-old to become just the second man to beat Santa Cruz and that is reflected in the betting odds, with Flores a top price of 17/1 to win.

Neither of these fighters have ever been involved in a draw, which can be backed at 33/1 on Saturday night.

Leo Santa Cruz v Miguel Flores Outsider Tips

Miguel Flores to win @ 17/1 - BET NOW

If you're looking for an outside punt in this match-up then a Flores win is an option.  The underdog does have a fairly impressive KO record with 12 of his 24 wins coming inside the distance so there is a chance he could spring a surprise, albeit a minute one.

It may be a better option to consider backing Santa Cruz to get the job done early though. Flores has never faced anyone of the Mexican's calibre and Santa Cruz proved far too strong for Avalos, who in turn was too good for Flores. It may be worth backing Santa Cruz to win in rounds 1-3, or spreading a few bets between stoppage wins for the favourites in the first five or six rounds.

Leo Santa Cruz v Miguel Flores Prediction

Santa Cruz probably has bigger targets in mind ahead of this showdown and even though Flores could be a tough opponent 'El Terremoto' should have too much skill and power to really be drawn into a battle. The three-weight world champion, rated in the top 10 pound-for-pound active fighters by BoxRec, can add another stoppage win to his record in this match-up as he bids to set up a unification bout against one of the division's other title holders.
