Who is the Favourite?
Dern is the heavy favourite going into UFC Fight Night 211. She has a 12W-2L record ahead of the main event. Saturday night’s bout in Las Vegas will be Dern’s biggest UFC fight to date.
Yan has a record of 15W-3L in 18 bouts. The 33-year-old goes into the main event fight following back-to-back losses. In May 2021, she lost by TKO to Carla Esparza. Then, in March of this year, Yan lost by split decision to Marina Rodriguez at UFC 272.
Dern is four years younger than Yan. She goes into the fight after a split decision win at UFC 273 against Tecia Torres in April 2022. The win came after a loss at UFC Fight Night in October 2021 to Marina Rodriguez. Dern and Rodriguez headlined the Fight Night card. Unfortunately for Dern, she lost by unanimous decision.
Dern is ranked No. 5 in the women’s strawweight division. Yan is ranked No. 6, and Saturday’s fight will put the winner in line for a title match with current champion Carla Esparza.

Dern vs Yan Betting Tip
There is a strong possibility this fight could go to a decision. Both fighters are at favourable odds for a decision, and it makes sense to back it. Why?
Seven of Dern’s 14 fights have gone the distance. She won five of those decisions while losing twice. Dern’s last two fights both went to decisions with her winning one and losing the other.
Yan has fought 19 times in her career with nine fights going to the judges. She posted eight wins and a loss in those nine decisions.
Dern is at odds of 7/2 to win by decision, while Yan is at odds of 15/4 to win the match by a decision. The fight is 6/4 to go the distance.
Our betting tips prediction is to back Dern to win the fight by decision. She is coming off a decision win against Tecia Torres in April and looks strong to repeat the victory.
Yan is coming off back-to-back losses. Her most recent fight, which took place in March, ended in a decision loss. Both fighters have racked up fights going the distance.
Ten of Yan’s 19 fighters have gone the distance, nine decisions and one no contest. Dern has had 50% of her fights go to the judges. We like Dern to win by decision.
