Jan Blachowicz puts his light heavyweight title on the line against undefeated middleweight champion Israel Adesanya on a bumper bill at UFC 259.

Sunday's card boasts four champions with three belts up for grabs and looks set to be a hugely exciting night of mixed martial arts at UFC Apex, Las Vegas.

Petr Yan's bantamweight belt is on the line when the Pole faces Aljamain Sterling, with featherweight champion Amanda Nunes defending her strap against Megan Anderson, before middleweight title-holder Adesanya steps up to light heavyweight in search of Blachowicz's gold.

Indeed, the bill is stacked even further beyond the three title bouts with the likes of #14 lightweight Islam Makhachev eager to extend his winning run to seven against Drew Dober, while #2 in the light heavyweight division Thiago Santos takes on #4 ranked Aleksandar Rakic.

Meanwhile, former two-time bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz tops the prelims card against Casey Kenney.

It's not often that a defending champion goes off as the underdog but that's going to be the case this weekend when Jan Blachowicz steps into the octagon.

Blachowicz is priced at 15/8 to successfully defend his title and pick up a fifth successive win in the process.

The 38-year-old claimed the vacant belt with a TKO second round victory over Dominick Reyes at UFC 253, after previous champion Jon Jones opted for a move up to heavyweight.

Adesanya has had his way with the middleweight division, winning all nine of his fights in the UFC to take his overall MMA tally to 20-0.

The Last Style Bender won the interim middleweight title in his sixth bout with the organisation, beating Kelvin Gastelum, before claiming the unified title at UFC 243 courtesy of a second round stoppage of Robert Whittaker.

He has successfully defended his strap on two occasions and is priced at 4/9 to become a two-weight champion on Sunday, something achieved by just four others in the UFC.

The preliminary card gets underway at 01:00 GMT on Sunday with the action set to be broadcast live on BT Sport 2.

Fight fans will be able to watch the main card get underway with Santos vs Rakic from around 03:00 GMT on BT Sport 2.

There are five fights scheduled on the main card and the headline act of Blachowicz vs Adesanya isn't expected to start until at least 05:00 GMT.

It's often said that styles make fights and that should be true when Blachowicz and Adesanya square off at UFC 259.

Adesanya only made his UFC debut in February 2018 but he has already risen to #3 in the pound-for-pound rankings after a string of scintillating displays.

His title victory over Reyes looks to offer the answers ahead of his first defence, the Pole wrapped up a win late in round two but earlier in the fight he struggled to find the target against an opponent not known for being elusive.

Adesanya should have little trouble in making Blachowicz miss and history beckons for the 31-year-old.

Adesanya doesn't tend to leave the decision in the hands of the judges with just five of his 20 professional fights going the distance.

He announced himself in the UFC with a second round stoppage of Rob Wilkinson and has triumphed inside two rounds on a further three occasions.
