Having gone past the half-way stage, the Indian Premier League continues at a pace and now is the time for teams to find their form to at least secure a play-off berth.

Wednesday's encounter certainly has plenty on the line as Chennai Super Kings have the opportunity to go top of the table, while fifth-placed Rajasthan Royals will be looking to keep themselves in play-off contention.

Royals vs Super Kings Betting Odds

Chennai Super Kings might have lost their opening fixture this season but they quickly showed that they mean business by reeling off five straight wins, in pretty comfortable fashion too.

Given one of those successes came against Wednesday's opponents, it is no surprise that Mahendra Singh Dhoni's men have been installed as 8/11 favourites, even if their hot streak was brought to an end on Saturday in a high-scoring defeat to Mumbai Indians off the last ball.

Rajasthan Royals have been erratic so far with three wins and four defeats and they are available at odds of 6/5 to avenge their 45-run loss to the Super Kings last month.

Royals vs Super Kings Team News

Given there is some way to go before they have made certain of a play-off place, Chennai might be reluctant to tinker too much with what has largely been a winning team. However, both Lungi Ngidi and Shardul Thakur went for at least 14 per over in that defeat to Mumbai, with Dwayne Bravo pushing for a return to the side.

Rajasthan have not been done any favours by the enforced absences of Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer but showed their potential last time out in a comprehensive win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. Although the batting remains reliant on Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson, Anuj Rawat didn't get to bat in that recent win so should get another chance. The Royals also bowled better as a unit in Sunday's 55-run success and Kartik Tyagi may well keep his place.

Super Kings to win - BET NOW

There were signs on Sunday that maybe Rajasthan are just starting to get it together but they are still perhaps too reliant on three players as the competition hots up.

Buttler scored his maiden IPL hundred in Sunday's win, so clearly has found some form, but it is worth remembering that it came against the side bottom of the standings and there is little support from elsewhere, other than from Samson.

It seems weird highlighting a batting weakness for a side that boasts two of the three centurions so far, but if Chennai deal with those two then the match is theirs.

The Super Kings have an in-form bastsman themselves in Faf Du Plessis, who has smashed 320 runs at an average of 64.00, laying the platform for others to chip in whenever needed.

The Super Kings eased to a 45-run win in the first meeting between the two sides and they have the overall more consistent game to make it a double, going top of the table in the process.

Moeen Ali - Man of the Match - BET NOW

England all-rounder Moeen offers plenty of value in the Man of the Match market, particularly as he is given the chance to bat high up the order at three.

The left-hander has been in good form with the bat, having amassed 206 runs in six matches, while he comes into this match on the back of his highest score of the season so far, 58.

Moeen bowls as well, taking 1-1 in just one over on Saturday, but it is worth noting he claimed 3-7 off three overs in the reverse fixture against the Royals to scoop the man of the match award then, following a batting cameo of 26.
