There is no bigger rivalry in cricket than India against Pakistan and that competitive edge increases when they face each other in a global tournament.

The two teams will meet at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, in what will be their first match of the World T20 event.

With India currently ranked second in the world in the shortest format and Pakistan third, it promises to be a thrilling Group 2 encounter.

India vs Pakistan Betting odds

It's no massive surprise to see India as favourites, with a best price 8/15 available for the 2007 champions to win their opening match.

Meanwhile, Pakistan can be backed at 8/5 to collect the victory - which would be just their second win over India in eight T20 internationals.

Virat Kohli has been the star with the bat in the most recent meetings between the sides, with the Indian skipper firing 55 not out, 49 and 36 not out in their last three matches.

Kohli is 5/2 to be India's top runscorer on Sunday, while Pakistan captain Babar Azam is the 2/1 favourite to be his team's top scorer.

India vs Pakistan Team News

India won both of their warm-up matches - against England and Australia - and look in fine nick going into the tournament.

Even without the rested Kohli, they comfortably chased down 153 against Australia and stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma smashed 60 off 41 balls to highlight what he has to offer with the bat.

Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya spent valuable time at the crease and look likely to be included against Pakistan. It's also worth considering Rishabh Pant in the runscoring markets, with the wicket-keeper batsman coming in at four against England.

Pakistan conceded 47 runs off the final three overs to lose their warm-up clash with South Africa and their unpredictable bowling attack will be a concern for those looking to back them.

Hasan Ali and Shadab Kahn both bowled four overs each, took no wickets and conceded 52 and 35 runs, respectively.

On a positive note, Fakhar Zaman looked in good form. The left-hander smashed 52 off 28 before retiring and he could be key to their chances against India.

Sunday's Group 2 match takes place at 3pm UK time (6pm in Dubai) and will be shown live on Sky Sports Cricket.

India vs Pakistan Prediction

1st Over Total Runs - Under 5.5 - BET NOW

There is always the chance of an upset in a 20-over shootout, but India do look too strong on paper for Pakistan.

Recent meetings between the two sides have been relatively low scoring, mainly down the pressure on the shoulders of both teams.

One market that looks to offer real value is 'First Over Total Runs', with Under 5.5 available to back at Evens.

Rohit Sharma - Top India Batsman - BET NOW

With Rohit clearly in good nick, betting on him being the leading India batsman is tempting, while Rishabh Pant is also worth watching.

However, the opener has tournament form against Pakistan, having smashed 140 against them at the 2019 World Cup and always seems to set the tone when it matters.
