Cricket fans across the globe will be keeping their fingers crossed the scheduled Twenty20 World Cup gets the green light to take place in Australia in the autumn.

T20 World Cup Betting Tips

With the shortest format of the game's showpiece tournament taking place in Australia for the first time, the likelihood is that it will not be a side from Asia that ends up walking away with the trophy.

Although you can never rule anyone out, especially India who will go into the tournament as one of the favourites, there are many contenders to pick up the crown for the seventh edition of the T20 World Cup.

The West Indies showed last time out that, if they get on a roll, they can beat anyone on their day, as they did when defeating England to claim the trophy back in 2016.

T20 World Cup Outright Betting

England to win - 4/1 - BET NOW

You could almost flip a coin for who is going to win the trophy between the big three of England, Australia and India. However, as the West Indies showed us last time, there is more chance of an upset in the short form of the game than any other.

India - led by Virat Kohli - will be looking to add to their inaugural victory and are available at 7/2. They have been the top team in the world for the past few years. There remain doubts about them on the road, so I am ruling them out this time around.

Australia, available at 5/2, will be busting a gut to pick up their first T20 World Cup and to do it on home soil just adds to their desire.

The five-time World Cup winners in the 50-over game have yet to win the trophy in the shortest format, but if they are to be successful they would have to break the hoodoo of no side winning the trophy on home soil.

My pick is England, the current 50-over ICC World Cup champions. They have such a balanced side and a great depth to their squad, so if they were to pick up any injuries along the way, they could bring in a like-for-like player with ease.

They were pipped in the final over last time by the West Indies. However, I see them repeating their success of 2010 when they won the trophy by beating Australia in the final.

T20 World Cup Predictions

Once again you can expect a great tournament, with a record amount of runs being scored on the fast and flat tracks of Australia.

While the big three of England, Australia and India will dominate the betting, and probably the tournament itself, outsiders New Zealand are a great side on their day.

They spent the last 12 months of cricket action being pipped at the post in all sorts of finals. By the time these finals come around, they may just have learned how to win one and I'm tipping them for an unlikely place in the final itself.
