Dave Chisnall v James Wade (Thursday, 19:00, Sky Sports 1)

Match Betting: Dave Chisnall 7/4, Draw 15/4, James Wade 6/5

Simon’s Tip: James Wade To Win @ 6/5 – BET NOW

St Helens boy Dave Chisnall will have ‘home’ advantage at the Echo Arena but I think James Wade is value to deflate the Liverpool crowd in the first match. Chizzy has won his first two Premier League games but in truth his opponents were both well off the boil, with Peter Wright averaging just 87.20 against him in week one while Raymond van Barneveld could only muster 91.73 seven days ago. This will be a big step up in class, with tournament specialist Wade back to his best in his 7-2 demolition of Kim Huybrechts last week. The Machine averaged 104.09 and has made finals night in five of his six Premier League starts - if he maintains his current form then he should win. I’ll take Wade at a best price 6/5.

Peter Wright v Raymond van Barneveld (Thursday, 19:30, Sky Sports 1)

Peter Wright 13/8, Draw 4/1, Raymond van Barneveld 13/10

Simon's Tip: Under 4.5 180s @ 5/4 – BET NOW

Two out-of-form players go head to head here and it’s unlikely to be a classic. Both Peter Wright and Raymond van Barneveld have lost their first two Premier League matches winning a combined eight legs between them, while Snakebite suffered a 6-2 defeat to Adrian Lewis in the 3rd round of the German Darts Championship over the weekend. Wright’s scoring hasn’t been terrible and he’s probably playing better than Barney right now but it’s hard to get excited about the Scot’s best price of 13/8. Given both players are averaging just one 180 per Premier League match, the better bet looks to be under 4.5 180s at a best price 5/4.

Phil Taylor v Stephen Bunting (Thursday, 20:00, Sky Sports 1)

Phil Taylor 8/13, Draw 21/5, Stephen Bunting 73/20

Simon's Tip: Stephen Bunting Most 180s @ 19/20 – BET NOW

Scouser Stephen Bunting has made no secret of his excitement to play on Merseyside but it’ll be hard for the 73/20 shot to get a result against a resurgent Phil Taylor. The Power was back to his brilliant best last week when he destroyed Adrian Lewis 7-2 averaging 108.33 and he’s had plenty of experience against crowd favourites so the atmosphere shouldn’t phase him. The Bullet has competed well in both his games so far but he was walloped 6-0 by Michael van Gerwen in Germany over the weekend and isn’t quite showing enough to justify backing an upset. Taylor isn’t worth backing at 8/13 either in a short format game so I’ll take Bunting to throw the most 180s at a best price 19/20. He’s thrown the second most Premier League 180s to date (seven in total) while the Power switches down the board a lot – if the local lad keeps up his normal maximum rate then this bet should land.

Gary Anderson v Michael Van Gerwen (Thursday, 20:30, Sky Sports 1)

Gary Anderson 21/10, Draw 37/10, Michael Van Gerwen 11/10

Michael van Gerwen To Win @ 11/10 – BET NOW

This looks the bet of the night. Michael van Gerwen is absolutely untouchable right now and battered Gary Anderson 6-2 in the German Darts Championship final over the weekend to continue his unbelievable form. MVG averaged 117.94 – yes 117.94 – and Anderson didn’t get a shot at double after the fourth leg! His Premier League performances have been immaculate so far and while Anderson is also playing very well, he’s openly admitted he is not practising enough due to the increased media duties of being world champion. The Flying Scotsman has got away with that lack of board time so far but against the world #1 at the very top of his game this could well be the week that he comes unstuck. At 11/10 I’m more than happy to back a van Gerwen victory.

Adrian Lewis v Kim Huybrechts (Thursday, 21:00, Sky Sports 1)

Adrian Lewis 4/7, Draw 4/1, Kim Huybrechts 41/10

Adrian Lewis -2.5 Handicap @ 5/6 – BET NOW

You have to feel for Kim Huybrechts as the Premier League is the most unforgiving tournament in darts and he’s looked a bit dazed in his defeats to Michael van Gerwen (7-3) and James Wade (7-2) so far. He also failed over the weekend with a 6-4 2nd round exit against Mensur Suljovic in Germany so the last thing he needs is a match against Adrian Lewis, who he has lost his last six successive games against. Jackpot is blowing hot and cold as ever but he made the semi-finals in Germany a few days ago and in truth he didn’t play that badly in his 7-2 loss to Phil Taylor last week (averaging just under 98). I’ve been stung backing Lewis plenty of times in this competition but he really should be beating the Belgian in his current form. I’ll take Lewis with a -2.5 handicap deficit at a best price 5/6.
