The first north London derby of the season comes from the Emirates Stadium this Saturday when Arsenal look to continue their good home form in the fixture against their rivals Tottenham. Can Mauricio Pochettino pull off another tactical masterclass to pick up their first win away from home against Arsenal since 2010? Our tipster Ross Casey provides his best Arsenal v Tottenham betting tips…
If you have read the opening gambit to my piece, it will come to the surprise of no one that the bookies have made Arsenal the favourites to win this match at the Emirates Stadium, making the home side a best price of 6/4.
Arsenal have Alexis Sanchez back fit which is a major plus, but The Gunners are not in a decent run of form heading into this firecer clash. They have won just one of their last four games over 90 minutes and have a terrible record against the better sides so far this season. They have drawn twice with Chelsea, lost 4-0 to Liverpool and 3-1 to Man City.
So there are plenty of positives coming into this match in terms of their home record against Tottenham – but in terms of them being favourites? I am not so sure on their current form!
Tottenham continue to impress under Mauricio Pochettino both in the Premier League and the Champions League. The matches without Harry Kane resulted in two defeats, but he is back and since then they have picked up back to back wins against both Real Madrid and Crystal Palace. Kane hasn't scored in those fixtures but his all round play is crucial to Spurs.
For those reasons, they should be much more fancied here and with best Premier League odds of 19/10 using our odds comparison service, many will be backing them. Whilst the likelihood of an away win is unlikely in terms of recent results between the two sides at The Emirates, this current Tottenham team look the real deal.
My recommended Arsenal v Tottenham tip is to back ‘Tottenham to win’ at a best price of 19/10 using our Easyodds odds comparison grid.
Arsenal showed real resilience, grit and for the first time in a long time structure in their 0-0 draw with Chelsea a few weeks back but they did not build on that and have looked the same old Wenger side since, flat track bullying the lesser sides and showing a real lack of fight in some away games and being shown up by Liverpool and Man City.
For me, the aggressive, physically dominant Tottenham will cause Arsenal more than their fair share of problems and with Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Harry Winks nicely rested after pulling out of the England friendlies, I see them being the match winners here. It is seven years since Spurs won at Arsenal - where even Younes Kaboul scored - and I believe this sis the season Spurs finally show their recent dominance in this fixture.
Back Tottenham to win with best Premier League odds of 19/10.
I’m not necessarily sure that punters realise the importance of our odds comparison service…
For example if you fancy Harry Kane (who has netted in five of the six derbies he has played against Arsenal) to score in this one, he is a best price 21/20. There’s a small difference in his price when you consider his worst price is evens. Why wouldn’t you use our site to peruse the anytime goalscorer market and ensure you get the best possible odds?
