Arsenal qualified for the Europa League semifinals for the second time in three seasons on Thursday with a 4-0 win over Slavia Prague. Now, Mikel Arteta’s team are preparing for a semifinal showdown against former manager Unai Emery and Villarreal. Before Arsenal kick off the semifinal, they will face off with London rivals Fulham on Sunday.

While the Europa League has gone well for Arsenal, they are hit and miss in the Premier League. Arsenal are ninth going into the weekend in the league standings. Arteta’s team are unbeaten in five of their last six games in the Premier League and are in decent form at the moment.

Fulham are not in form having lost four straight matches in the league. They are six points adrift in the fight for relegation survival. After seeing an uptick in form for a few months, Scott Parker’s team are back to losing and the momentum created is gone.

Arsenal are on a six-game winning streak against Fulham in the Premier League. Earlier this season, Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all found the back of the net as Arsenal romped 3-0. Fulham have not defeated Arsenal since the 2011-12 league season. In footballing terms, that is a lifetime ago.

Arsenal vs Fulham Odds

Arsenal took 11 points from their lats 18 on offer in the league. Their only blemish over the last six games was a 3-0 loss to Liverpool at the Emirates. Matchday 31 saw Arsenal rebound with a 3-0 win against Sheffield United. Arsenal were guilty of conceding goals during those last six league matches. They allowed nine goals to opponents while scoring 12 of their own.

The Gunners are at odds of ¾ to win at home and continue their winning streak against Fulham. They have been hit and miss at the Emirates in 2020-21. Arsenal have taken 21 points from 45 possible on their own turf. Two of their last three home matches ended in losses. Can Fulham get a result?

Fulham are at odds of 17/4 according to bookies. Their last 14 matches at the Emirates and Highbury before it, all ended without a victory. The Cottagers are joint-bottom of the Premier League form standings with three points from their last 18 on offer. A mere three goals were tallied by Fulham in those six matches with 10 going against them.

Fulham have been decent away from home this season for a relegation candidate. They have taken 16 points from 45 on offer away from Craven Cottage. Fulham’s most recent away match was a 3-1 loss at Villa Park to Aston Villa. Before that loss, they had gone five games without a loss on the road.

Arsenal vs Fulham Team News

According to reports on Friday, Arsenal have been dealt a transfer blow as in-form attacking midfielder Martin Odergaard will not be allowed to join the club permanently in the summer. Odergaard has played well for Arsenal since arriving from Real Madrid in January. However, Real Madrid have identified Odergaard as one of four “untouchable” players along with Vinicius Junior, Federico Valverde and Rodrygo that will be built around in the coming years.

Odergaard is a doubt to play due to an ankle injury this weekend. He will face a fitness test before a decision is made, however. Defender David Luiz is ruled out of the game due to undergoing a minor knee surgery.

Kieran Tierney will join Luiz on the sidelines with a knee issue of his own. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is recovering from a bout of malaria. It is believed he picked up the disease during the March international break while playing for Gabon. Aubameyang is now out of hospital and recuperating at home.

Parker is without forward Ademola Lookman. The on-loan RB Leipzig player has performed well this term. His absence is a major blow to the side. Back-up goalie Marek Rodak and Tom Cairney are long-term injuries and neither will make the squad this weekend. Parker needs the team’s attack to spark to life this weekend. The Cottagers scored a mere three goals in the last six games in the league.

Sunday’s game is unlikely to be a high-scoring affair. Burnley do not score many goals. They have just 25 in the Premier League in 2020-21, which is the third-fewest of any team. The last three matches between these clubs in the Premier League finished with both teams not finding the back of the net.

Alexandre Lacazette to score anytime @ 5/4 - BET NOW

Alexandre Lacazette is in brilliant form. He scored two more goals on Thursday night in the Europa League against Slavia Prague to run his season tally to 17 in 38 games in all competitions. Arsenal appear to have given the wrong player a massive contract this season. Aubameyang has not been as important to the Arsenal cause as Lacazette. The striker bagged two goals versus Sheffield United last weekend in the league.

Arsenal have scored over 2.5 goals on their own in each of the last three games played against Fulham. The Gunners could do it once more.
