Saturday's big contest at Newmarket is the bet365 Cambridgeshire Handicap with a massive 29-runner field set to contest this prestigious event.

John Gosden and Frankie Dettori are bidding to win for the third year running and they are amongst our fancies.

Tempus to win and each-way - BET NOW

The Roger Charlton-trained Tempus is likely to start favourite for the Cambridgeshire after winning both starts this term at Newbury and Ascot over a mile since mid-August. He looks to be progressing quickly now and his new mark of 97 certainly does not look prohibitive.

Jostling for the privilege of favouritism is John Smith's Cup winner Sinjaari for the hot team of William Haggas and Tom Marquand - can the jockey back three successive Saturday afternoon feature contests? This Camelot gelding did it nicely at York in July but faces an 8lb ratings-hike today.

Sir Busker has been in outstanding form this season but finds only one rival with more weight in this ultra-competitive field as he returns to handicapping, while the consistent Derevo and Ilaraab - another for the Haggas team - are also near the head of the betting.

Power Of Darkness to win and each-way - BET NOW

A monster field will take to the Newmarket turf and some luck in running will be required for anything with designs on success.

Amongst those at bigger prices worth considering could be Power Of Darkness for a Marcus Tregoning operation enjoying an excellent season.

He's had something of an interrupted career so far but has won four from nine starts. He returned from 323 days off with a rusty showing here in June but might be sharper this time. He's only had one attempt at this distance and certainly isn't handicapped beyond his means off a mark of 98.

Bear Force One, Celtic Art, Dubai Image and Tulfarris - the mount of Hayley Turner - are others worth paying attention to.

Cambridgeshire Handicap Prediction

Al Rufaa to win and each-way - BET NOW

If any partnership are to going win a hat-trick of Cambridgeshire's then it is probably John Gosden and Frankie Dettori.

They've bagged the last two with Wissahickon and Lord North and will try for three in a row with Al Rufaa in the Al Shaqab Racing colours.

The son of Kingman has been progressive this summer despite a tendency to race keenly. Two of this three wins have come here on the July Course at 7f, while he was also a decisive Kempton scorer on the all-weather before that.

A four-runner race at Haydock (7f, soft) this month didn't portray him in the best light and is overlooked.

Dettori climbs on board for the first time and is the ideal man to get the horse settled early on. His best performance this summer was here in July in a field of 11 and there's optimism that his rider can get some cover early on and allow Al Rufaa to conserve his gas for what it matter.

If he can tank into the race in that manner amongst rivals, there could be more to come when he extends out over this nine-furlong trip for the first time.
