The early kick-off in the Championship sees Lee Clark’s Birmingham take on Leeds LIVE on Sky Sports at St Andrews. Both sides are lingering in the bottom half of the Championship table thus far and need to kick-start their seasons. Ross Casey previews this early Football League Saturday clash but what is he backing in the betting markets? Read below to find out…

Birmingham v Leeds (Sat, 12:15, SS1)

Ross Casey’s verdict: Draw @ 12/5 – BET NOW

Birmingham are favourites to win this match which is pretty incredible when you think they have won just one of their last 20 home fixtures! Are Leeds really that bad? Currently away from home they are, yes. They have lost all three away matches this season, but luckily for them they can count on their Elland Road form to keep them from relegation. They have won three of their four matches at home this season.

Whilst Birmingham’s St Andrews record is feeble in recent history, things could well be turning for Lee Clark’s side. They are unbeaten at home in the league this season, although if you include their 3-0 loss in the Capital One Cup to Sunderland they have lost their last two matches with an aggregate score of 7-0. Perhaps the international break came at the right time!

Leeds of course are managerless at the moment and will have caretaker Neil Redfearn in the dugout for this match. In short I believe a side with a horrible home record against a side with the worst possible away record will cancel eachother out and the draw looks tasty at 12/5.

Birmingham v Leeds Team News: Birmingham have signed Stoke winger Brek Shea on loan and he will be available for selection, whilst Leeds signed no less than 15 players in the summer transfer window. Whether caretaker boss knows what his best side is will be another matter!

Anytime Angle: David Cotterill @ 9/2 – BET NOW.The tricky Welsh winger will be on set-piece duty and can trouble the Leeds defence in open play too. He looks tempting at a best price of 9/2.

Championship betting: With both sides starting their respective seasons pretty averagely you would have to assume they will be closer to the drop than the play-offs come May. The Blues are third favourites for the drop at 12/5 with Leeds a best price of 7/2.
