Paris Saint-Germain have lost six times in Ligue 1 this season already, yet they are just two points behind league leader Lille going into matchday 28 in France. Lille’s 1-1 draw versus Strasbourg on Sunday re-opened the door for the Parisians to win another Ligue 1 title.

Paris Saint-Germain claimed a 4-0 win away to Dijon. It came a week after a thorough 2-0 defeat to Monaco at home. Mauricio Pochettino’s team now go away to Bordeaux on Wednesday night while Lille face a difficult test versus Marseille. If everything goes as planned, Pochettino’s team could move back into first place in Ligue 1 with a win against Bordeaux.

Girondins are on a dreadful run of form heading into matchday 28. They sit in 11th place after 27 games and eight points ahead of 18th-placed Nimes. Eight points also separate Bordeaux from the top five and European football qualification. Jean-Louis Gasset’s team can go either way and qualify for the Europa League or be relegated. Of course, they can also finish in mid-table, the place they are currently.

While Bordeaux are on a rotten run of form in Ligue, they did snatch an away draw versus Paris Saint-Germain earlier this season. Timothee Pembele’s own goal have Bordeaux an early lead until Neymar cancelled out the goal. Moise Kean gave Paris Saint-Germain the lead, but Bordeaux Yacine Adli struck just after the hour to give Bordeaux a share of the spoils.

Bordeaux vs PSG Betting Odds

Bordeaux are underdogs going into the game at odds of 7/1 to claim a win versus the reigning champions. Girondins have not defeated Paris Saint-Germain since the 2014-15 campaign. Twelve league and cup matches have taken place since that win.

Gasset’s team are second-bottom in the Ligue 1 form table going into the game. They took a mere one point from the last 18 on offer and have lost back-to-back games. Fifth-placed Metz won 2-1 against Bordeaux at the weekend. Each of Bordeaux’s last three matches at the Noveau Stade de Bordeaux ended without a victory.

Paris Saint-Germain are on a good run of form, but not as good as would typically be expected from the petrol-money fuelled club. They took 12 points from the last 18 on offer, scoring 13 goals and conceding six times. Their last two away fixtures both ended in victories to nil against Marseille and Dijon, respectively.

Pochettino will be confident that his side can win on Wednesday night and make up for the points that were dropped in the reverse fixture. A win could move Paris Saint-Germain back to the top of Ligue 1. At the end of March, Paris Saint-Germain will play Lyon and Lille in back-to-back weeks. Those two games could essentially be a playoff for the Ligue 1 title.

Bordeaux vs PSG Team News

News on Monday reported that Paris Saint-Germain could be close to signing striker Moise Kean on a permanent deal from Everton. The striker was a complete flop at Goodison Park, but with higher quality players around him in the Parisian team, he has excelled in Ligue 1. Kean has 17 goals in 31 games in all competitions with 11 goals coming in Ligue 1 alone.

Neymar remains out with an injury. The good news for Pochettino is that Neymar is on track to return for March 10 and the second leg of the team’s last 16 Champions League tie versus Barcelona. He is also expected to be fit for the end of the month versus Lyon and Lille. Fellow forward Kylian Mbappe is in good form after scoring twice versus Dijon at the weekend.

Pochettino has several names on his injury and suspension list, including Marco Verratti (doubt), Alessandro Florenzi (out), Mauro Icardi (doubt), Angel di Maria (doubt), and Juan Bernat (out). Midfielder Leandro Paredes is suspended.

Gasset has five names on his injury and suspension list for Wednesday night. Midfielder Yacine Adli and Loris Benito are both suspended while Toma Basic could miss the game with a thigh injury. Dilane Bakwa and Otavio are both doubts as it stands.

Both teams to score: YES @ 10/11 - BET NOW

Nine of the last 14 games all competitions between Bordeaux and Paris Saint-Germain finished with both teams finding the back of the net. Their game played at the Parc des Princes earlier this season also finished with both teams finding the back of the net. Although Bordeaux are not playing well right now, they could take advantage of a Paris Saint-Germain defence that has allowed six goals in their last six games.

Over 2.5 goals scored @17/25 - BET NOW

Ten of the last 15 matches in all competitions between these rivals ended with over 2.5 goals scored. We could certainly see another game with goals scored. They combined for four goals split two apiece in the reverse fixture. Four of Paris Saint-Germain's last six games in Ligue 1 saw over 2.5 goals. Four of Bordeaux’s last five league fixtures also saw more than 2.5 goals scored.

Kylian Mbappe to score anytime @ 4/6 - BET NOW

Mbappe scored twice at the weekend and now has 18 goals in 23 Ligue 1 matches. He has 23 goals overall this campaign in 31 fixtures in all competitions. Mbappe is far more important to Paris Saint-Germain than Neymar. For one, Mbappe plays more matches than Neymar and steps up more in bigger games. The striker has four goals in seven career matches versus Bordeaux. He could lead them to a massive win that could take Paris Saint-Germain to the top of the Ligue standings once more.

Lille have a tricky match versus seventh-place Marseille. Jorge Sampaoli’s Marseille are playing much better football than at the end of Andre Villas-Boas' tenure with the team in January. They could take points off of Lille and help their hated Parisian rival return to the top of Ligue 1.

Lille and Paris Saint-Germain will play at the same time, thus reducing the pressure on the former. Regardless of Lille’s outcome against Marseille, Paris Saint-Germain should stay unbeaten versus Bordeaux with an away win.
