Sheffield United v Stoke City

(Tues 19:45)

Penalty in the match – Yes @ 9/5 – BET NOW

Sheffield United have won an abundance of penalties so far this season and that isn’t just about decisions going their way. The manner in which Chris Wilder sets up his team in possession is perfect for forcing the opposition to commit a foul in dangerous areas. The suffocation of the penalty area by the so-called “false 5” centre-backs deployed when in control of the ball means that the Blades are overloading the penalty box and forcing defenders into committing fouls.

No team in the Championship has had a greater amount of touches in the opposition box than Sheffield United and their risk and reward style of play will undoubtedly continue at home against a Stoke City incapable of creating any kind of rhythm in this division.

The Blades have won five spot-kicks so far this campaign and were just a couple of inches offside from winning another at the weekend in their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Derby. If handed one, David McGoldrick to net his fourth penalties of the season is great value in the anytime goal scorer market with a best-price of 7/5.

Birmingham City v Reading

(Tues, 19:45)

Birmingham and BTTS @ 3/1 – BET NOW

Unbeaten in nine and finally converting those hard-battling performances into wins, Birmingham City are the second most in form team in the Championship. A late Che Adams goal away at Stoke City sent the fans wild as they begin their decent up the table after a dire couple of years since the sacking of Gary Rowett.

Reading are still struggling around the foot of the table as Paul Clement is unable to get crucial wins against sides not around the bottom. Away form should offer some ray of light for the Royals as they prove to be a stubborn opposition on their travels, but Birmingham’s momentum should give them the upper hand.

Both teams to score has come in nine times for the Royals this season while the Blues has seen the same outcome come in seven times so far, including four times out of their last five Championship matches which makes the match result with BTTS yes the perfect combination in the Championship betting for this fixture.

Middlesbrough v Rotherham United

(Tues, 19:45)

Middlesbrough 2-0 @ 11/2 – BET NOW

Top of the Championship following an important victory against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday evening meant that Boro were able to take advantage of results going their way on Saturday.

Tony Pulis looks ready to mount a challenge for promotion with his pragmatic approach that might not score many goals, but proves to be highly affective. Apart from a 3-0 victory against Sheffield United in their second match of the season, Boro have won by either one of two goals so far this season.

Rotherham might be strong at home, but their away form leaves a lot to be desired. Paul Warne has Rotherham drilled and organised well, but the quality isn’t available for the South Yorkshire side to really push on.

With Boro clear favourites with the bookies the best Championship betting option looks to be a 2-0 victory at a tasty price of 11/2 as they look to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Leeds United v Ipswich Town

(Wed, 19:45)

Leeds win to nil @ 13/10 – BET NOW

Despite suffering their first defeat in nine matches, Leeds will be able to regain some confidence and pull themselves out of their recent slump in form against Ipswich on Wednesday.

As frustratiing for the opposite as the Tractor Boys can be, Paul Hurst’s side have won once all season only scoring 11 goals, while Leeds possess the third best defence in the league, conceding 11, behind Boro and Swansea.

Leeds in the past few weeks have had a tough schedule as the honeymoon period for Bielsa ends facing strong Boro, Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn and Brentford side while also fall foul to the usual nightmare that is Millwall away.

Ipswich will give Leeds plenty of opportunity to regroup and get three points on the card as they aim to keep up with the chasing pack at the top of the Championship.

A Leeds win to nil looks like the best-value option available in the Championship odds at a best-price of 13/10.

West Brom v Derby County

(Wed, 19:45)

West Brom to win @ 21/20 – BET NOW

Despite a 2-1 loss to Bolton on the opening weekend of the season, West Brom have been nothing but deadly at home. Darren Moore’s potent attacking force haven’t dropped a single point at The Hawthrons since that fluke loss to Bolton.

Possessing the strongest attacking line in the division, West Brom are scoring goals for fun – eight more goals than the second highest total in the division thus far with 31 for the season. A disappointing performance against Wigan on Saturday left a lot of fans disheartened that they were unable to reclaim top spot from Boro. However, home form should give the Baggies the edge as they face Derby who scored an impressive victory against Sheffield United at the weekend.

Frank Lampard’s side look like they could be without Saturday’s 19 second goal scorer Craig Bryson having come off the field at Pride Park in the first half on Saturday. Despite the obvious quality in the Rams team, West Brom have too much fire power and were lucky not to concede more than one against the Blades at the weekend.
