Dynamo Kiev and Benfica will be desperate to hit the ground running when they do battle in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

The two sides have been handed a tough draw, with Barcelona and Bayern Munich the other two teams in Group E.

The winner of Tuesday's clash could be an early indication how the the group could pan out, and there's plenty of pressure on both sides to come up with the goods on matchday one.

Dynamo Kiev vs Benfica Betting Odds

Despite an unbeaten start to the new season, Dynamo Kiev are 13/5 to win Tuesday's match at home.

Even though Dynamo have not lost at home since March, their record in the Champions League is poor, with Mircea Lucescu's side losing three of their last four in Europe.

Benfica are 13/10 to pick up all three points on their travels, and that could be a little generous, especially given the fact they are unbeaten during their first nine games of the new campaign.

The draw is 12/5, but that has yet to happen in the two previous fixtures between the pair.

Dynamo Kiev vs Benfica Team News

Dynamo Kiev's preparations for Tuesday's game have been hampered by injuries. Forwards Eric Ramirez, Artem Besedin, Vladyslav Kulach and Ibrahim Kargbo are all injured, while Denys Popov joins them on the sidelines.

That means Vladyslav Supryaga and Illya Shkurin should lead the line, but Dynamo are lacking experience in the final third.

Benfica defender Lucas Verissimo is suspended for Tuesday's trip to Ukraine, but fortunately for the visitors, Nicolas Otamendi should return after missing the 5-0 win over Santa Clara at the weekend.

Dynamo Kiev vs Benfica H2H

There has only been four previous meetings between the two sides since 1991, and Benfica have been able to win three of those battles.

Dynamo Kiev won the first clash 1-0 back in November 1991, while Benfica have won three on the spin. They recorded a 5-0 success in April 1992, while they picked up a 2-0 win and a 1-0 win in 2016.

Benfica to win to nil - BET NOW

This week, Dynamo Kiev's lack of firepower is a real worry, and Benfica have plenty of European experience.

In their previous two games on the road in the Champions League, Benfica were able to keep a clean sheet, and they arguably played more competitive teams in Spartak Moscow and PSV Eindhoven.

Benfica have only lost one of their previous 13 on their travels in all competitions, and there's no reason why they cannot improve that tally this week.
