The Euro 2020 tournament was postponed last summer due to COVID-19. Now, the tournament is nearing its belated kick off on June 11. Twenty-four teams will play across Europe for the Euro 2020 Championship. Portugal defeated France in the Euro 2016 final in a thriller and we could see another classic final this year. The Euro 2020 tournament will cap off a very busy 12 months of football and run from June 11 to July 11.

The Netherlands are tipped as the early favourites to win Euro 2020 Group C. Ukraine, Austria, and North Macedonia will join the Netherlands in Euro 2020 Group C stage play. The group’s games will be held in Romania and the Netherlands, and the Dutch will benefit from playing on home soil. Euro 2020 Group C kicks off on June 13 with Austria playing North Macedonia and the Netherlands facing Ukraine. The group will finish up on June 21.

Three teams could qualify for the knockout rounds from Euro 2020 Group C. The top two teams in Group C will progress to the elimination rounds. Meanwhile, the four best third-place group teams at the tournament will also qualify for the next round. Euro 2020 Group C kicks off on June 13 with all four teams playing. Which nation will win the group?

Euro 2020 Group C Betting Odds

Netherlands manager Frank De Boer has not had a great time in charge of the national team. He has done well enough as manager and will hope results continue to improve at the Euro 2020 tournament. The Dutch are at odds of ½ to win Euro 2020 Group C. De Boer’s team will face off with Scotland and Georgia in friendlies to build-up to the tournament’s kick off. Ahead of the friendlies, the Netherlands have won back-to-back international matches by a total score of 7-0.

Second place in the group will be up for grabs in Euro 2020 Group C. Ukraine and Austria are likely to fight for second place in the group. The Ukrainians are at odds of 5/1 to win the group. Andriy Shevchenko’s team are ranked 24th in the world. They have had a difficult 12 months due to COVID-19. Ahead of Ukraine’s June 3rd friendly against Northern Ireland, they are on a seven-match winless streak with three matches ending in losses.

Austria have the chance to get off to a quick start in the group when facing North Macedonia on matchday 1. The Austrians are at odds of 6/1 to finish the group stage as winners. However, as previously stated, Austria and Ukraine are likely to battle for second place in Euro 2020 Group C. Manager Franco Foda’s team were very good in international play in 2020-21. They will face England and Slovakia in pre-tournament friendlies.

North Macedonia will play in their first Euro tournament as a nation this summer. Leading sportsbooks have the North Macedonia’s at odds of 22/1 to win the group. Manager Igor Angelovski has a squad low on quality compared to the other three sides in the group.

Euro 2020 Group C Team News

Dutch defenders Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool and Sven Botman of Lille have been left out of the Netherlands’ provisional 34-man squad. Aston Villa winger Anwar El Ghazi has been included in the provisional squad thanks to his excellent Premier League campaign. Botman’s exclusion was a shock. The defender helped Lille win the Ligue 1 title and had a great individual season. De Boer has also called up Manchester City’s Nathan Ake, Manchester United’s Donny van De Beek, Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum, and Tottenham’s Steven Bergwijn.

Foda has made two big calls for Austria ahead of the tournament. Goalkeeper Heinz Lindner and striker Adrian Grbic were dropped the squad for the Euro Championship. Foda has already announced his final 26-player roster. Both players had been included in the prelim squad. Austria’s squad is made up of 21 German Bundesliga players, including Martin Hinteregger, Julian Baumgartlinger, David Alaba, and Marcel Sabitzer.

The majority of Ukraine’s players compete domestically. Eight players were called in from Shakhtar Donetsk and 12 players are in the team from Dynamo Kyiv. The team’s squad is headlined by the Premier League do of Andriy Yarmolenko and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Genoa’s Goran Pandev is the key player for North Macedonia. He recently returned from international retirement. Beyond Pandev, Angelovski does not have many players capable of turning a match around. They are expected to play defensively with five at the back.

Euro 2020 Group C Prediction

To win the Euro 2020 Group C: Netherlands @ 1/2 - BET NOW

On paper, the Netherlands are the class of Euro 2020 Group C. The team may not have the defensive duo of Virgil van Dijk nor Sven Botman, but the side is still full of strong players. Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum are just two of the matchwinners in the Netherlands squad.

Austria to qualify for the round of 16 @ 2/5 - BET NOW

Ukraine has better odds than Austria to win the group. Yet, Austria are better positioned to finish the group in second – or as the third-place team. Austria are a good team under Foda and have some excellent players who compete in the Bundesliga in the squad. Austria’s squad is mostly made up of Bundesliga players with David Alaba being the biggest name, but he isn’t the only top star they have. Martin Hinteregger and Christoph Baumgartner could be two break out players.

North Macedonia to finish bottom of the group @ 1/2 - BET NOW

North Macedonia are playing in their first-ever Euro tournament. The national team do not have a lot quality in the team and should struggle to keep up with the rest of the teams. The North Macedonians are likely to be the whipping boys in Euro 2020 Group C. They could spring a surprise and make games close, but it is unlikely Angelovski’s team will do enough to finish off the bottom of the table.
