The Europa League has reached the last-32 stage and we will take a look at some of the Europa League betting ahead of Thursday’s fixtures.
Milan to win @ 6/5 - BET NOW
Milan may be the fallen giants of European football and it seems strange to see them down in Europe’s second-tier competition but there have been signs of a revival in recent weeks. Vincenzo Montella was replaced as coach by Gennaro Gattuso in November last year and the Rossoneri are now seventh in the Serie A standings.
They have won four of five games domestically and the confidence, so lacking early in the season, now seems back.
Bulgarian champions Ludogorets are top of their domestic First Division but it is not the standard of Italian football and Milan’s price seems too good to ignore in the Europa League odds.
Draw @ 47/20 - BET NOW
Bilbao are the draw specialists in La Liga, with 10 this season and four in their last five outings. With that in mind, it seems likely that coach Jose Ziganda will set them up to be hard to beat away from home.
Spartak Moscow dropped into the Europa League after finishing third in their Champions League group, with just one victory - a 5-1 thrashing of Sevilla, but they managed a 1-1 draw at home to Liverpool while also holding Maribor to a couple of draws. Goals are likely to be at a premium and the duo might share a couple.
Draw @ 3/1 - BET NOW
Leipzig have shown that last season’s heroics were no flash in the pan as they are second in the Bundesliga behind the mighty Bayern Munich. A first foray into the Champions League saw them end up third behind Besiktas and Porto but they were far from disgraced and earned an encouraging 4-1 away win at Monaco in week five.
They have drawn the short straw being paired with the Serie A leaders but should have enough quality to come away from Naples on level terms.
Timo Werner is always a goal threat and, with Napoli embroiled in a two-way battle with Juventus for the Scudetto, the Partenopei might take their eye off the ball in this one.
Celtic to win @ 7/4 - BET NOW
Celtic had to negotiate three preliminary rounds just to make the Champions League and so it must have been a kick in the teeth when they were drawn in the same group as both Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. They managed just one home win against Anderlecht and sneaked into the Europa League.
The Bhoys are untouchable domestically but have been found wanting in Europe and they now have a chance to give their supporters something to cheer about away from the Scottish Premiership. It will not be easy against a Russian outfit who dominated their Europa League group and are second in the Russian Premier League.
Celtic Park is like a 12th man in the big games, however, and those who follow Europa League tips might want to back them to get over the line in Thursday’s first leg.
