Fulham host Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday night to kick off the Premier League round 31 weekend. Scott Parker’s team are on a three-game losing streak. Just as they were nearing escape from the relegation zone, Fulham are struggling once more and are three points behind 17th-place Newcastle United.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are nine points ahead of Fulham in the Premier League standings. The Old Gold are 14th in the division and are winless in five straight games in the league. Back-to-back games have ended in losses for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have had a disappointing season. Much of the disappointment has occurred due to the severe head injury striker Raul Jimenez suffered in late November. Wolves have scored 30 goals this season in the league while conceding 41 times. Although Wolverhampton Wanderers are nine points above Fulham in the race for Premier League survival and unlikely to go down, Friday night’s game is a six-point affair.

A win for Wolves would likely put them far enough away from the relegation zone, but a defeat would suck them within six points of Fulham. A win for Fulham on Friday night would send them out of the bottom three. Newcastle United would fall into the relegation zone for at least 36 hours. Can Fulham claim a massive win over Wolves?

Fulham vs Wolves Betting Odds

Wolvers are unbeaten in the last three matches against Fulham in the Premier League. Earlier this season, Santo’s team won 1-0 at home against Fulham. After a scoreless first half, Pedro Neto netted a goal in the 56th minute to give the Black Country team a victory. Fulham have not defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers since meeting in the Championship in 2017-18. Three games have come and gone since Fulham achieved that victory.

Wolverhampton Wanderers go into the game at odds of 30/13 to win at full-time against Fulham. They took just five points from the last 18 on offer in the league. Wolves continue to struggle to score goals without Jimenez. Just five were tallied in their last six matches. Wolverhampton Wanderers have scored a dismal 13 goals on the road in 2020-21 in 15 matches.

Adama Traore has struggled to repeat last season’s form and January signing Willian has not found the back of the net in appearances. Fulham’s defence improved in December to give the team hope of survival. They did concede eight goals across their last three games in the league. Each of those three games ended in losses.

Fulham have the league’s worst home points total with just 10 points from 48 available. The Cottagers have conceded just one goal in each of their last two games against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Fulham vs Wolves Team News

Parker has three players ruled out of the game on Friday night. Forward Ademola Lookman will miss the game due to a thigh muscle injury. The forward has played well since arriving at Fulham from RB Leipzig in the transfer window. He will be a big miss for Fulham and no return date has been given for the player.

Goalie Marek Rodak is ruled out with a hand/wrist injury while midfielder Tom Cairney is suffering from a knee injury. Neither player has a return date set. Fulham are coming off of a 3-1 loss to Aston Villa last weekend. Striker Aleksandar Mitrovic returned from the international break in great form. He scored five goals in three World Cup qualifiers for Serbia. He followed up the great international form with a goal versus Aston Villa.

Jimenez is out with the head injury suffered earlier this season. Still, no return date has been given due to the severity of the injury. Centre-back Willy Boly is ruled out of the game after a positive COVID-19 test. Fernando Marcal will miss the game with a groin injury.

Meanwhile, full-back Jonny Otto has reinjured his knee and may have to undergo MCL and ACL surgery once more. He previously suffered the injury last August in the Europa League knockout stages.

Halftime result: DRAW @ 20/21 - BET NOW

The last three Premier League games between Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers saw the first half end as a draw. The teams played out a dull first half earlier this season at Molineux before Wolves found the winner through Neto in the second half. We should see a low-scoring game once more and a nil-nil halftime result could occur for a second time this season.

Under 2.5 goals scored @ 11/20 - BET NOW

Wolves are struggling this season. The lack of a top-class No. 9 has hit the team hard. The sale of Diogo Jota to Liverpool also hit the Old Gold. They are still good enough to stay up and not be relegated. A point of any kind against Fulham could be significant in the race for survival.

The last three matches between Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the league saw under 2.5 goals scored. Yes, Wolves’ defence has been abysmal in their last six games, but four of those matches ended with under 2.5 goals scored. Three of Fulham’s last six games in the league ended with under 2.5 goals scored. However, three straight matches saw more than 2.5 goals. Wolves are not great in the final third, so Fulham should keep the game low scoring.

Friday night’s game should be the fourth straight between Fulham and Wolves in the league to finish with under 2.5 goals and both teams not scoring.
