Manchester City are on the way to winning the Premier League title unless a dramatic slip up causes them to lose their 10-point lead in the trophy race. The Cityzens host fourth-place West Ham on Saturday in a lunchtime kickoff at the Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola would have preferred to play the Hammers later in the day following the team’s 2-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League last 16 first leg in Budapest on Wednesday night. Still, Manchester City go into the game as favourite to keep their winning streak going.

West Ham are unbeaten in four straight games with two of those fixtures ending in victories. David Moyes has the side competing for a shock Champions League qualification place. Heading into matchday 26, West Ham are two points above Chelsea in the race for the top four.

Chelsea face off with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday in a massive top-five six-point match. A shock West Ham win against Manchester City and dropped points by Chelsea against the Red Devils would help Moyes’ team increase the gap in the race for Champions League qualification.

West Ham drew 1-1 with Manchester City when the teams met earlier this season in London. Michail Antonio opened the scoring in the first half but Phil Foden cancelled out the goal just after halftime. Can the Hammers get another result versus Manchester City?

Manchester City vs West Ham Betting Odds

West Ham have not defeated Manchester City since the 2015-16 season. Their draw earlier this season ended an 11-game winning streak for Manchester City in all competitions. Of course, the league leaders head into the game as favourite to win according to leading sportsbooks. Manchester City are at odds of ¼ to claim a victory.

Guardiola’s team were a perfect six wins from six in their last six Premier League matches. They outscored opponents 14-2 over the course of those games. West Ham, on the other hand, took 13 points from their last 18 available – which was the third-best total in the Premier League form table. They outscored opponents 12-7.

Leading sportsbooks have the Hammers at odds of 12/1 to shock Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this weekend. West Ham are unbeaten in five straight away games and claimed three wins during that five-match run. They have been strong away from home all season posting a 6W-3D-3L record.

On Wednesday night after the Champions League last 16 first leg win versus Borussia Monchengladbach, Guardiola explained the reason as to why Manchester City are so good currently. The manager simply stated it is down to the vast amount of money the club have at their disposal. It was a comment that won’t sit well with many of the clubs around the world.

Manchester City vs West Ham Team News

Guardiola has a mere one player on the team’s injury list going into the game. Defender Nathan Ake remains on the sidelines with an injury but is due back the first weekend of March. He is in training and nearing match fitness. Guardiola hasn’t needed the defender, however. The club’s defence has been brilliant conceding just two goals over the course of their last six games.

Moyes has just three names on his injury list and should have plenty of options to feel confident of getting a result versus the Cityzens. Arthur Masuaku is a long-term injury. He will remain out of action this weekend due to a knee problem. It is hoped Masuaku will return to the side in mid-March.

Defender Angelo Ogbonna is still out following a foot/ankle injury. He did not undergo surgery for the issue and will return in the next few weeks. Andriy Yarmolenko is also ruled out of the fixture. He is suffering from a knee injury and no return date has been set for his return to the team.

In recent news, Moyes wants to sign Rangers defender Connor Goldson in the summer transfer window. The defender could be sold following a great campaign at Ibrox. Reports also indicate that West Ham could return to Brentford to sign another forward. Ivan Toney is on their watchlist.

Manchester City vs West Ham Predictions

Both teams to score: YES @11/10 - BET NOW

Manchester City have only allowed two goals over the course of their last six league matches. Still, West Ham have been good this season and got a goal versus the Cityzens in a 1-1 draw earlier this season. The Hammers have tallied 39 goals this season and are a threat in the final third at the moment. Add in Manchester City’s midweek game in Eastern Europe and West Ham could get a goal or two on Saturday at lunchtime.

Raheem Sterling to score anytime @6/5 - BET

Raheem Sterling struggled for goals at one point this season, but is no in form. He has nine league goals and scored the winner last week away to Arsenal. Sterling has bagged four goals in his last six league matches. He is struggling in the Champions League to score, but not so in the Premier League currently. In 14 games all-time versus West Ham, Sterling has scored eight goals and assisted eight.

Can Manchester City keep their incredible run of form going versus West Ham this weekend? Manchester City are on a 26-game unbeaten run and it doesn’t feel like a Premier League club will end that record. Even though West Ham are playing well, Guardiola’s side are playing too well at the moment. The amazing thing is this isn’t the Manchester City we are used to seeing outscore teams left and right. They are keeping clean sheets, scoring a goal or two, and winning matches.

Manchester City’s last 19 games in all competitions ended in victories. They should keep that run going and push it to 20 games this weekend against West Ham. The Hammers may put a scare into them.
