After some huge results at the weekend, Stoke City will need to dig deep as they try to salvage their season with relegation looming large. Tom Hill has looked at the Premier League betting markets ahead of Monday’s game at the London Stadium.
There is no doubt that Stoke fans will have endured a tough Saturday afternoon after watching Huddersfield overcome Watford with almost the last kick of the game. Tom Ince’s strike has piled the pressure on Paul Lambert’s men while Crystal Palace secured a valuable three points with a 3-2 win over Brighton.
Swansea managed to pick up a point in a 1-1 draw against Everton which means the Potters are now six points from safety and time is running out with just five games remaining.
Stoke Double Chance @ 17/20 - BET NOW
The Potters remain 19th after only picking up 27 points from their first 33 games in the Premier League. They have not won since the end of January when they beat the Terriers, Lambert’s first game in charge, but they have lost their last four matches in a subsequent nine-game winless run.
However, while that form does not bode well, they have been producing better performances and were unlucky to lose to Everton, having had a man sent off, while Spurs only narrowly beat them last weekend.
Lambert has given the club a lift and his players are playing with intensity so there is potential for another strong performance.
Stoke winger Eric Choupo-Moting remains a doubt for Monday’s clash as he continues to struggle with a groin injury. He has not played since March 17 and Lambert admits it is touch and go.
Under 2.5 Goals @ 11/10 - BET NOW
Choupo-Moting’s absence could be huge in this contest as Stoke use him to great effect on the counter attack. While Xherdan Shaqiri’s presence will always be a threat, Stoke are lacking in confidence in front of goal.
They will need Mame Biram Diouf to be firing on all cylinders but under 2.5 goals looks tempting in the Premier League odds with both teams struggling. While West Ham have picked up in their last two matches to secure four points, they have failed to deliver in front of their own fans.
They were booed off before the international break and boss David Moyes will be hoping their recent win over Southampton has cooled the tensions in the stands.
He will be boosted by the return of several players, with Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini and James Collins all coming back into contention.
Carroll has been sidelined with an ankle fracture since December, Lanzini suffered a knee injury on international duty and Collins has missed the last month with a hamstring problem.
Winston Reid, Sam Byram and Pedro Obiang remain long-term absentees but Marko Arnautovic could a thorn in Stoke’s side.
Arnautovic To Score Anytime @ 6/4 – BET NOW
The Austria international has been in good form this year and he loves to score against his former club. He did it in the first fixture between these two and should be a man to watch at the London Stadium.
