Paris Saint-Germain were well backed to win the Champions League after the summer signing of Lionel Messi but they have taken only eight points from their first five Group A games.

That tally means Mauricio Pochettino's men are guaranteed to finish as runners-up to Manchester City and PSG will be keen to sign off their group-stage campaign in style at home to Club Brugge.

PSG vs Club Brugge Betting Odds

PSG are four points behind City and four clear of RB Leipzig and Club Brugge going into matchday six so their group position cannot change.

Pochettino's men are 9/25 to claim a third Champions League victory of the season at home to Belgian champions Brugge, who are 17/2 to spring an upset in the French capital.

The matchday one meeting between these teams ended in a 1-1 draw and the stalemate can be backed at 5/1 on Tuesday.

PSG vs Club Brugge Team News

Pochettino could rotate his squad for this assignment and Ballon d'Or winner Messi may be in line for a rest after recently recovering from illness.

Another of PSG's attacking stars, Neymar, is sidelined until the New Year while Julian Draxler is out and Ander Herrera, Colin Dagba, Presnel Kimpembe and Sergio Ramos are doubtful.

Club Brugge are still in the hunt for a third-place finish, and a spot in the Europa League, and they should be at full strength. Roma loanee Ruben Providence (ankle) is the only fitness doubt for the visitors.

PSG vs Club Brugge H2H

Club Brugge's defenders managed to keep Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe quiet on matchday one as they claimed a 1-1 draw with PSG in Belgium.

Spain midfielder Herrera opened the scoring for the visitors in the 15th minute but Hans Vanaken equalised just before the half-hour mark and PSG couldn't find a winner.

The French club had won both of their previous meetings with Club Brugge in the 2019-20 group stage as Mbappe scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 rout in Belgium before a Mauro Icardi goal secured a 1-0 victory at home for Les Parisiens.

PSG vs Club Brugge Predictions

PSG's last home game ended in a goalless draw against Nice in Ligue 1 but that was the only one of their last eight matches in all competitions not to reward backers of both teams to score.

Their defence is unlikely to be at full strength on Tuesday and they have kept only one clean sheet in five Champions League matches this term – in the 2-0 home win over Manchester City, who had 18 attempts at goal.

Club Brugge's first four games, including home and away defeats to Group A winners City, all featured goals at both ends and they are capable of getting on the scoresheet at the Parc des Princes.

However, since their matchday one draw with PSG they have conceded 15 goals in four games, including a 5-0 home defeat to Leipzig, so they may struggle to avoid defeat.

PSG to Win 3-1 - BET NOW

PSG boss Pochettino will want a response from his players after drawing with Leipzig and losing to Manchester City in their last two Group A games and dropping points in their last two Ligue 1 outings.

Despite not firing on all cylinders the hosts should take advantage of a lacklustre Brugge defence and a 3-1 PSG victory looks like a decent correct-score bet.

Their last two league wins, against Nantes and Saint-Etienne, were both by a 3-1 margin and Club Brugge have scored exactly one goal in four of their five Champions League games this term.
