Champions League Group H is perfectly poised going into matchday 4. RB Leipzig head into the game versus Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night in second-place with the chance of going top of the group with a win and Manchester United loss or draw versus Istanbul Basaksehir. When these teams met on matchday 3, RB Leipzig came from a goal down at home to claim a 2-1 win versus a disappointing Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain have certainly underachieved in the group. They have lost twice and claimed just one win. That win came against Istanbul Basaksehir was an unworthy victory. The Turkish team outplayed Paris Saint-Germain for large parts of the game, but still lost 2-0.

Both teams are coming off of weekend setbacks in their respective domestic leagues. Paris Saint-Germain were shock losers to Monaco, 3-2. After leading 2-0 through two goals from Kylian Mbappe, Monaco stormed back to score three times to win. RB Leipzig drew 1-1 with Eintracht Frankfurt away from home. It was a missed opportunity as the Red Bulls could have gone top of the table.

Which side will take the spoils in Paris? Can Julian Nagelsmann’s team win once more against the Parisians?

PSG vs RB Leipzig Betting Odds

PSG go into Tuesday game against RB Leipzig as the favourites, The Parisians can be backed at odds of 61/100 to win in Tuesday's Champions League clash. RB Leipzig have been priced up at odds of 9/2 to do the double of the home side in Group H.

When these teams met on matchday 3, it was a rather evenly matched fixture. Paris Saint-Germain tallied 51% of the game’s possession but were outshot by RB Leipzig 12-8. The Red Bulls put five of those shots on target while Paris Saint-Germain could only muster two. Tuesday night’s game should be just as evenly matched between the two sides.

Champions League Group H is wide open going into matchday 4. Even slow starters Istanbul Basaksehir can move into a last-16 qualification place this week. It is difficult to predict which teams will go through. RB Leipzig had been thrashed by Manchester United on matchday 2, 5-0. Yet, the Germans then won against Paris Saint-Germain at home and Manchester United lost away to Istanbul. There are bound to be more strange results in Group H before the stage is finished.

Paris Saint-Germain will have the weekend’s 2-0 loss to Monaco fresh on their minds. The Parisians’ lead at the top of Ligue 1 was cut to two points after Lille picked up a 4-0 win versus Lorient to move into second place.

These teams met in last season’s Champions League semifinals with Paris Saint-Germain going through. RB Leipzig should give them another difficult game like in this season’s tournament.

PSG vs RB Leipzig Team News

Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel stated Neymar will start versus RB Leipzig on matchday 4. The underperforming Brazilian has come under fire once more in the French capital. Reports out of Paris now state that the club will sell Neymar this summer to fund a new contract for Mbappe.

Neymar played versus Monaco at the weekend, coming on as a second-half substitute. However, he made little impact and all three of Monaco’s goals came in the final 38 minutes of the game. Tuchel will be without both Idrissa Gueye and Presnel Kimpembe. Both were sent off with red cards versus RB Leipzig on matchday 3. Abdou Diallo and Rafinha Alcantara will deputise for the two missing players.

Nagelsmann is without summer signing Hwang Hee-chan, who is self-isolating after a positive COVID test. Emil Forsberg scored the winning penalty against Paris Saint-Germain and is in fine form for the Red Bulls. Nagelsmann will be without defenders Marcel Halstenberg and Nordi Mukiele. Tyler Adams could fill in for one of the two. The American defender/midfielder scored the winner versus Atletico Madrid in last season’s Champions League quarterfinals.

PSG vs RB Leipzig Predictions

Both teams to score - BET NOW

Tuesday night’s game at the Parc des Princes should resemble the game played on matchday 3 in Champions League Group H by the two clubs. Paris Saint-Germain ran out to an early lead only to concede three times in the second half. It wasn’t too dissimilar to their matchday 3 game versus RB Leipzig. Two of Paris Saint-Germain's three Champions League games ended with both teams scoring. The same can be said for RB Leipzig.

Emil Forsberg to score anytime - BET NOW

Emil Forsberg struggled last season under the recently arrived Nagelsmann. However, this season, Forsberg has regained his form and a regular place in the team. The Swede has three goals and two assists in 12 games in all competitions. He got the penalty against the Parisians in Leipzig to give his side the win. Will lightning strike twice with Forsberg getting a goal from open play or a penalty to sink Paris Saint-Germain? Don’t be shocked if it happens.

Over 2.5 goals scored - BET NOW

Group H is wide open and results on matchday 4 may not give us any clearer of a picture of which sides will progress to the last-16. Players are tired after an exhausting November international break that saw them jetting all over the world to play international fixtures. Seven of RB Leipzig’s 12 games in all competitions have ended with over 2.5 goals scored. That includes their last two games in the Champions League group stage.

Paris Saint-Germain have had nine of their 14 games in all competitions finish with over 2.5 goals scored. That includes four straight matches in all competitions. Two of those four games finished in losses for the Parisians. Tuchel’s team have already suffered five losses in 14 matches in all competitions. They are a Jekyll and Hyde team. They look unbeatable one week but are beaten the next. It is the same complaint many critics of the Qatari petrol-funded club have received over the years.

Tuesday night’s game will be a close affair. A draw will suit Nagelsmann’s team more than Tuchel’s squad. Paris Saint-Germain are in third place in the group with three points from nine. They must win to keep up with RB Leipzig and Manchester United. Expect a Paris Saint-Germain win or draw at home.
