Saturday Football Accumulator Prediction
Maidenhead United vs Wrexham
Let’s start with the National League where everyone’s favourite Hollywood-backed football club, Wrexham, are in first place. Wrexham moved into first place in midweek thanks to a 2-1 home win over Chesterfield. The win sent the Dragons to the top of the table as Notts County lost 2-1 to Dag and Red in a shock home defeat.
Now, Wrexham are aiming to keep at least two points between them and Notts County. Maidenhead United are up next for Wrexham, as they seek a fourth straight win in the National League. United are in good form but well off the promotion playoffs.
Wrexham picked up a 1-0 win over Maidenhead United at the Racecourse Ground earlier this season. It was their first win in six tries versus United. Wrexham are on a six-game away win streak in the league. Maidenhead United are on a two-game win streak at home. They will be aiming for a big scalp on Saturday.
Wrexham have stood up to all tests this season. Our betting prediction is for a Wrexham win as they keep a minimum of two points between them and Notts County.
Chelsea vs Leeds United
Chelsea have to finally win, right? On Saturday the Blues face off with Leeds United, a team battling relegation. Chelsea are just 10 points clear of the relegation zone, so they aren’t guaranteed Premier League football next season.
Graham Potter cannot get a win, as Chelsea continue to struggle in the final third. Leeds do not score many goals either, so Stamford Bridge could see a boring match on Saturday.
Chelsea took six points from the last six games. Each of their last two matches in the Premier League ended in defeat, as Southampton and Spurs won to nil versus the Blues. Leeds United are coming off a 1-0 home win over Southampton. The win was Leeds United’s first since early November.
Leeds United hammered Chelsea 3-0 at the start of the Premier League season. Potter wasn’t the team’s manager at the time. Leeds United hired former Watford boss Javi Gracia at the end of February and he promptly led the Whites to a 1-0 win.
It is difficult to determine which team will win the match on Saturday. Our betting tip is to back total goals. Neither club scores many goals, and the match should end with under 3.5 goals.
Brighton vs West Ham
Brighton are unbeaten in six straight matches in all competitions versus West Ham. On Saturday, the Seagulls will host West Ham as they seek another match without a defeat versus the Hammers.
Brighton continue to fight for a European qualification place. The Seagulls have slightly fallen off the pace for the top six. They failed to win three of their last four matches in the league. Four points separate Brighton from the top six. The Seagulls were successful in midweek FA Cup fifth-round play, as they defeated Stoke City 1-0 to qualify for the quarterfinals.
West Ham defeated Nottingham Forest 4-0 a week ago. It was just their second win in the last six matches in the Premier League. The Hammers took eight points from the last 18 points on offer in the league. Brighton took 11 points from the last six games.
West Ham do not travel well in the Premier League. They have an abysmal record of one win, three draws, and eight defeats. West Ham failed to win any of their last six matches in the league. Our betting prediction is for Brighton to win at full-time.
Blackpool vs Burnley
The Championship’s first-place team, Burnley, will visit Blackpool on Saturday at Bloomfield Road. Burnley won 12 of their last 14 matches in the Championship ahead of the trip to Blackpool. Meanwhile, Blackpool failed to win 16 of their last 17 matches in the Championship.
The Tangerines are 23rd in the Championship table. Four points separate Blackpool from the relegation zone. The team are on a two-match losing streak ahead of the fixture with Burnley.
Burnley are the Championship’s best away team with 32 points from 16 away matches. The team outscored away opponents 28-15. Blackpool are the second-worst home team in the Championship in terms of points. Just 17 points were picked up from 16 home matches. However, the Tangerines are unbeaten in four straight home matches with one win and three draws.
The reverse fixture between the clubs ended 3-3 with both sides having a man sent off. That game was played in mid-August. A lot has changed since then and our betting tip is to back Burnley to win, as they continue their excellent league form.
Middlesbrough vs Reading
Middlesbrough are third in the Championship table ahead of the weekend. The Boro are seven points off the top two and the final automatic promotion place. On Saturday, 14th-place Reading will make the trip to the Riverside.
After flirting with the top six, Reading have fallen off the pace and are now 10 points off the promotion playoff places. Reading took seven points from the last 18 points on offer in the league. They were outscored 10-7 across the last six games.
Middlesbrough are top of the Championship form table with 15 points from the last six matches. They outscored their last six opponents 14-5. Our betting tip is to back Middlesbrough to win and keep second-place Sheffield United within sight. Middlesbrough still have a shot at finishing in the automatic promotion places.
