Peterborough United are in a battle for Championship survival and are sitting 22nd in the league heading into this weekend’s home clash with Sheffield United. Peterborough are two points off of survival, but are coming off of a disappointing 2-2 draw with Birmingham in midweek. Manager Darren Ferguson’s team conceded twice late in the game to lose a 2-0 lead.

On Saturday, Peterborough will welcome Sheffield United to Weston Homes Stadium who  are12th in the Championship. The Blades have taken 36 points this season and eight points separate them from the top six and have three games in hand over the teams in the play-off slots currently. If Paul Heckingbottom’s team can cash-in their games, they could qualify for the promotion play-offs in May.

The reverse Championship fixture between these teams finished 6-2 in favour of Sheffield United, can we expect another goalfest on Saturday evening?

Peterborough vs Sheffield United Betting Odds

odds

The home side are underogs going into Saturday match with Peterborough heading into this match at odds of 3/1 to win. The Posh are winless in their last four Championship matches losing three of these matches and have only pcied up four points in their last six matches.

Sheffield United picked up 13 points from the last 18 points available in the Championship and are on the up since the appointment of Paul Heckingbottom. The Blades can be backed at a tempting price of 51/50 to win on Saturday.

The Blades won the reverse fixture between these sides 6-2 at Bramall Lane in September in what many thought would have kick started the Slavisa Jokanovic era, but the results never came in the end.

Peterborough vs Sheffield United Prediction

Half with most goals: Second half @ 11/10 - BET NOW

odds

The reverse fixture between these teams saw the majority of the goals scored in the second half. Six of the eight goals in the first game came in the second period with Sheffield United winning. In Sheffield United’s most recent Championship fixture, a 2-0 win over Luton Town, the game saw both goals scored in the second period while three of the four goals in Peterborough United’s match with Birmingham City in midweek came during the second half.

Both these teams love a second hald goal, so don't be surprised to see the second half being key yet again. Our first betting tip for Peteborough vs Sheffield United is the second half to have the most goals at odds of 11/10,

Rhian Brewster to score anytime @ 8/5 - BET NOW

odds

Sheffield United striker Rhian Brewster scored last weekend versus Luton Town in the team’s 2-0 win. Brewster has three goals in 13 appearances this season for the Blades in the Championship.

After a big-money move from Liverpool in 2020, Brewster has struggled to score goals with just four goals in 45 appearances for the Blades. However, since Paul Heckingbottom was made the manager at Bramall Lane, Brewster has scored three times for the Blades. Is his Sheffield United career about the get on track?

We reckon the England under-21 striker is a strong bet to bag another against a leaky Posh side. Our second predictions is Rhain Brewster to score anytime at 8/5.

Over 2.5 goals scored @ 10/11 - BET NOW

odds

Peterborough United and Sheffield United combined for eight goals when they met earlier this season and for our final betting tip we predict for these teams to once again combine for more than 2.5 goals scored.

Two of Sheffield United’s last five games in the Championship finished with over 2.5 goals scored and five straight Peterborough United matches finished with over 2.5 goals scored. The Posh have conceded the league’s most goals with 53 and they should continue to concede to opponents.

Sheffield United should pick up a second straight win versus Peterborough United in the Championship. A win could put Sheffield United in 10th place and closer to the top six. If the Blades want to make the promotion playoffs, they must continue to win games and get help from other teams.
