The battle for the top four intensifies on Sunday afternoon as 6th place Tottenham host 5th place Everton at 13:30, LIVE on Sky Sports 1. Tim Sherwood has instilled a more attacking philosophy at White Hart Lane but Easyodds.com editor Simon Hopper thinks goals will be hard to come by…

Under 2.5 Goals @ Evens – BET NOW
Those hopeful of a Sunday lunchtime cracker at White Hart Lane could well be disappointed.
It’s true that Tim Sherwood has made Spurs a more attacking outfit but the effects of that have only really been felt on the road so far. Sherwood is averaging 2.8 away goals per game as Tottenham manager but take out the 5-1 drubbing by Man City and his other home matches have ended 1-1, 3-0 and 2-0, which doesn’t scream entertainment.
And they are facing one of the most obdurate sides in the division. Everton’s 12 away Premier League games have yielded just 14 goals scored and 15 conceded, so don’t read too much into their 4-0 drubbing by Liverpool in their last road match. In fact, five of their 12 away Premier League games have ended either 0-0 or 1-1 and with focal point Romelu Lukaku out injured it would be no surprise to see Roberto Martinez adopt reactionary tactics here.
This is a massive game and tensions will be high so over 2.5 goals at a best price 9/10 seems optimistic at best. Therefore, under 2.5 goals at even money looks the way to go – Everton are very unlikely to be as exposed as they were at Anfield in their last road trip.
Premier League Preview
This is 5th against 6th and both Tottenham and Everton cannot afford to fall further behind Liverpool in the race for the top four. The current top four finish best prices see Tottenham at 7/2 (Ladbrokes, Stan James) with Everton out at 13/2 with the former. It’s surprising to see the Toffees a full three points longer than the Lilywhites, considering they are one point above their hosts and have been consistent all season.
