Defending champions Germany will face Mexico, Sweden and South Korea in World Cup Group F and we will take look at how they might fare with these World Cup tips.
Germany to reach the final @ 9/4 - BET NOW
When the World Cup comes around every four years there is only one certainty - Germany will be among the contenders. Their record of four wins is superb and they have also finished as runners-up on four occasions.
Add to that another four third-place finishes and it is obvious they just know how to get the job done in tournament football.
World Cup betting on the Germans is always popular and, with Manchester City winger Leroy Sane not even in the squad, it is obvious they are strong once again.
Coach Joachim Low will have his men ready for all situations and woe betide any nation that gets involved with them in a penalty shootout!
They look strong in every department and, with players of the quality of Mario Gomez, Thomas Muller, Marco Reus and Timo Werner up front, they will have goals in them in Russia.
Mexico to qualify @ 11/10 - BET NOW
Mexico have reached the World Cup finals on 15 occasions and have advanced to the knockout stage every time. Like the Germans, they have an ability to turn it on when it matters and have reached the quarter-finals twice.
More often than not, the round of 16 is as far as they get and it may well be the same story this time around, but coach Juan Carlos Osorio can call on the likes of West Ham’s Javier Hernandez, LA Galaxy brothers Jonathan and Giovani Dos Santos, and Carlos Vela of Los Angeles FC.
They might not ply their trade in the top leagues of Europe but will work as a unit and have a ‘never-say-die’ attitude once at the event. El Tri reached the last four of the 2017 Confederations Cup and will relish the chance to mix it with the big boys this summer.
Timo Werner to be top goalscorer @ 14/1 - BET NOW
Werner may be only 22 years of age but has already established himself as one of the best marksmen in the European game at RB Leipzig. The former Stuttgart star, who will be eyed by many scouts in Russia, scored seven goals for Germany in 2017 and there is every reason to suspect he will be successful over the next six weeks.
The World Cup odds have Brazil’s Neymar as the 10/1 favourite to top the goalscoring charts, with Antoine Griezmann of France next in the market at 12/1, but Werner looks good value.
Coming off a season in which he scored 21 club goals in all competitions should stand him in good stead for the showpiece event and, as ever, Germany will create many chances for their forwards. The youngster will have little fear and could be one of the stars of the competition.
