World Cup Group H looks to be one of the more competitive groups in Russia as Poland, Colombia, Senegal and Japan all have legitimate hopes of qualifying. Gareth Freeman offers his World Cup tips on this potential ‘group of death’.

Poland to win Group H @ 7/4 - BET NOW

South American outfit Colombia are the 11/8 favourites in the World Cup betting to finish at the top of the pile in Group H but Poland could be the best bet here.

The Poles have a top-class striker in Robert Lewandowski and look to have strength in all areas of their squad, while coach Adam Nawa?ka has implemented his own philosophy on the side and they are an incredibly hard working unit.

Colombia got to the quarter-finals four years ago thanks in part to some outstanding individual displays from James Rodriguez but they tend to struggle away from South America and have only progressed beyond the group stages once in a World Cup held outside of their home continent.

Poland have a geographical advantage and the draw also looks kind for Nawalka’s men, who have all three group games located fairly close together in comparison to some of the arduous trips other teams have to endure in Russia.

Japan lowest scoring team @ 16/1 - BET NOW

Panama are the favourites to score the fewest goals at World Cup odds of 8/1 and I wouldn’t necessarily want to put anyone off going for the Central Americans in this market as they find themselves in a group with England and Belgium, but Japan could be worth a small stake as they look a little light in attack.

Coach Akira Nishino has selected just three recognised forwards in his 23-man World Cup party. All three ply their trades in Europe but only Leicester’s Shinji Okazaki, 32, has an impressive scoring record with 50 in 112 outings.

Mainz man Yoshinori Muto has just two goals in 23 appearances to date and Werder Bremen’s Yuya Osako has seven in 28 caps, and goals could be an issue for the Blue Samurai in Russia.

Both Colombia and Poland have strong defences and Senegal conceded just three goals in six games in qualifying, and with that in mind there’s a real chance Japan could draw a blank in all three of their group games.

Senegal to qualify @ 5/4 - BET NOW

Senegal are preparing for just their second ever World Cup having reached the quarter finals in Japan and South Korea 16 years ago.

Colombia and Poland are the favourites to qualify, but Senegal have a talented squad and the last of my World Cup tips is for the Africans to get out of the group.

On paper, both Poland and Colombia have stronger squads than the Lions of Teranga but Senegal still have some quality individuals – and any team with Liverpool forward Sadio Mane in the starting XI always has a chance.

The Africans aren’t just a one-man team however, as most of their players play their club football in Europe so Senegal could well be one of the surprise packages in Russia this summer.
