A bumper day of 2018 World Cup action takes place in Russia on Saturday as France, Australia, Peru, Denmark, Argentina, Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria all get their campaigns up and running.
All the attention will be on Group C and D this Saturday with both France and Argentina, who are 7/1 and 10/1 respectively to win the tournament, hoping to get off to a perfect start. Les Bleus are up first in the 11 am kick-off against Australia and it should be a relatively comfortable opener for the Euro 2016 finalists.
Griezmann to score anytime @ 11/10 - BET NOW
Didier Deschamps' men are on a four-match unbeaten run heading into the tournament, having picked up victories over Russia, the Republic of Ireland and Italy before drawing 1-1 against the USA last time out.
Atletico Madrid forward Griezmann has enjoyed another impressive domestic campaign, netting 19 times in La Liga, and he is chasing a second successive Golden Boot after scooping the award at Euro 2016.
The 27-year-old has shown he can consistently perform for both club and country and he looks fantastic value at 11/10 to score anytime against an Australian side that may find it difficult to qualify from Group C.
The second game in Pool C takes place at 5pm as Peru go up against Denmark at the Mordovia Arena in Saransk. There is a good deal of hype surrounding the Danes with Tottenham star Christian Eriksen in great form, but Peru offers a juicy price to win at 23/10.
Ricardo Gareca's men were involved in an extremely difficult qualifying group, having to play the likes of Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia and Chile, and they proved they can handle this calibre of opponent.
La Blanquirroja, who beat Uruguay and drew twice with Argentina in WC qualifying, are on a 15-match unbeaten run going into the tournament and have conceded just two goals in their last nine outings.
The two Group D matches see Argentina take on Iceland at 2pm whilst Croatia go up against Nigeria at 8pm in the final game of the day, and it is the last contest on Saturday that looks like it provides some good value.
Croatia's squad is still packed with quality, with Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic, Ivan Perisic and Mario Mandzukic all expected to play a major part, and they have the potential to go deep in the tournament.
Zlatko Dalic's men have won two of their last three matches, beating Mexico and Senegal, whilst opponents Nigeria are on a four-game winless run, losing three and drawing once.
The Super Eagles have scored in three of their previous five outings but keeping it tight at the back has been a real issue, having kept just one clean sheet in the last six matches.
Taking into account the quality in Croatia's side and the Nigerians’ poor defence, it looks good value at 7/2 for Vatreni to pick up the win with both teams finding the back of the net.
