Japan vs Croatia

singleSelection

Japan shocked the world with wins against Germany and Spain in the group stage of the World Cup. The Blue Samurai won both fixtures by a score of 2-1. Japan’s only flaw in the group stage was a 1-0 loss to Costa Rica.

Croatia drew nil-nil with Morocco to start the tournament. A 4-1 win against Canada followed the draw before a nil-nil draw with Belgium.

Eleven of the opening 50 games in the FIFA World Cup finished with over 3.5 goals scored. Therefore, 39 matches in the World Cup ended with under 3.5 goals scored. The tournament had 78% of the opening 50 games finish with under 3.5 goals.

Our betting tips prediction is for under 3.5 goals scored on Monday night when Japan and Croatia clash. The match should be a close and cagey affair with under 3.5 goals tallied.

Brazil vs South Korea

singleSelection

Tite rotated the Brazil side against Cameroon on the final day of the group stage. The changes did not pay off as Brazil lost 1-0 to Cameroon and narrowly edged Switzerland for the top spot in Group G.

Brazil may not be as strong as perceived going into the knockout stages. The Selecao are often bookmakers’ favourite to win the World Cup but they haven’t claimed a tournament trophy since 2002.

South Korea pulled off a come-from-behind win against Portugal on the final day of the group stage to qualify for the round of 16. It was a dramatic win against a rotated Portugal side.

Brazil will be a different opposition and a much more difficult one. Neymar could be fit to play against South Korea after stepping up his ankle rehab.

All three of Brazil’s matches in the group stage finished with both teams not scoring goals. The Selecao won 2-0 against Serbia before defeating Switzerland 1-0. Cameroon upset the Brazilians 1-0.

South Korea drew nil-nil with Uruguay before losing 3-2 to Ghana. The Tigers of Asia defeated Portugal 1-0. Although Korea scored in two of their three games in the group stage, Brazil’s defence will be difficult to break down. Twenty-eight of the opening 50 matches in the FIFA World Cup finished with NO BTTS. The tournament has had 56% of games finish NO BTTS.

Our betting tips prediction is for Brazil and South Korea to end with both teams not scoring goals. It should be a cagey affair.

Morocco vs Spain

Morocco are built on defence, as they conceded just once in three games during the group stage. The one goal Morocco conceded came courtesy of an own goal. Morocco’s attack scored four goals in the group.

Spain conceded three goals in three group-stage games. A 7-0 win was followed by a 1-1 draw with Germany and a 2-1 loss to Japan.

Spain lead the tournament in possession with 76.9% per game. La Roja should keep plenty of the ball and starve Morocco of it. The Moroccans will aim to hit Spain on the counter-attack.

Morocco saw two of their three matches in the group end NO BTTS. Spain had one of their three games end NO BTTS.

Our betting tips prediction is for Morocco and Spain to finish NO BTTS. The game could be low on chances and low on goals.

Twenty-eight of the opening 50 matches in the FIFA World Cup finished with NO BTTS. The tournament has had 56% of games finish NO BTTS.

Portugal vs Switzerland

Portugal and Switzerland will finish off the round of 16 on Tuesday night. Portugal are coming off a surprise 2-1 loss against South Korea as Fernando Santos played a changed side once progression was achieved.

Portugal conceded a one-goal lead against the Koreans, showing their vulnerabilities. Portugal saw two of their three matches in the group stage finish with both teams scoring goals. Santos will bring back his first-team squad to face Switzerland with progression to the quarterfinals on the line.

Switzerland saw just one of their matches in the group stage end with both teams scoring. The Swiss defeated Serbia 3-2 to finish off the group stage and finish second in Group G. The Swiss had six points, the same total as Brazil, but finished second due to goal difference.

Two of Portugal’s last three games in international football finished with both teams scoring. Three of Switzerland’s last six games in international football saw both teams score.

Only 44% of matches in the 2022 FIFA World Cup finished, with both teams scoring goals. A total of 22 games from the opening 50 ended with both teams finding the back of the net. Portugal played two of those 22 fixtures that ended with both teams scoring.

Our betting tips prediction is for Portugal and Switzerland to both find the back of the net. It could be a high-scoring game as the match ends BTTS.
