The Belfry sets the scene for this week's European Tour action as Danny Willett takes his turn as the tournament host at the British Masters.

A decent if not spectacular field has been assembled with some emerging stars looking to make their mark on a week with a different look to it; the tournament starting on Wednesday and finishing on Saturday.

British Masters European Tour Betting Odds

Robert Macintyre tops the market at 14/1 and after a tie for 12th at the Masters, it'll be interesting to see how the left-hander adapts to his new higher profile. The Scot leads the trio of Rasmus Hojgaard, Martin Kaymer and Bernd Wiesberger who are all available at 18/1 in the betting.

Englishman Sam Horsfield, fourth in his last European Tour appearance, is 20/1, with Matthias Schwab 25/1. Calum Hill, who will need to improve his driving after a slack weekend in Tenerife, is on offer at 28/1, alongside the trio of Thorbjorn Olesen, Dean Burmester and Willett.

British Masters European Tour Long Shot

Marcus Armitage to Win and Each Way - BET NOW

In an open field, there is the chance for a value shot to burst out of the pack and Marcus Armitage might be the man to take advantage.

The 33-year-old has been T45 and T78 in his last two starts in the Canaries but prior to that was T4 in Austria after coming home T10 in Kenya.

That T45 at the Gran Canaria Open included a pair of 64s so the form is there and he is available at a tempting price as he is a player who has finished in the top 10 on his last two visits to the Belfry.

British Masters European Tour Prediction

Rasmus Hojgaard to Win and Each Way - BET NOW

A two-time winner on the European Tour, Hojgaard has fond memories of the Belfry having won the UK Championship in Wishaw last August. The Dane started the weekend 67th on the leaderboard but was 15-under for his final two rounds before edging Justin Walters with a par on the second playoff hole.

The 20-year-old was T12 on his last European Tour start in Austria and has since spent time on the PGA Tour, missing the cut on both occasions.

That outing in Austria saw him ranked second in strokes-gained and he will have learned from his tough spell on the other side of the Pond. As the most recent winner at the Belfry, the young Dane should not be ignored, especially with the weather likely to be a bit glum.

Matthias Schwab to Win and Each Way - BET NOW

With those chilly conditions in mind, Matthias Schwab is also up for consideration to claim his maiden European Tour victory.

The Austrian's results read T7-T7-T8 before a T33 on his last start in Tenerife but on a low-scoring and tricky layout like the Brabazon course, his ability to grind out scores and his excellent iron play could see him move into contention.

Schwaab is a player with talent and the feeling is he is moving closer towards his maiden win as he heads to Warwickshire.
