With the 2021 Ryder Cup just days away from getting started, we could be set for another exciting tussle between the USA and Europe as they battle for glory at Whistling Straits, Wisconsin.

The 43rd edition of the Ryder Cup, which is the 22nd to be held on American soil, will see reigning champions Europe attempt to triumph across the pond for the first time since the 'Miracle at Medinah' in 2012.

As for the USA, they are aiming to win back the cup after their 2018 thrashing at Le Golf National, and captain Steve Stricker has assembled a strong-looking 12-man team, with eight of his players in the top 10 of the world rankings.

With the excitement and anticipation building ahead of Friday's first session, we have delved into the markets and picked out three value bets that could have a chance of coming off in Wisconsin.

Ryder Cup Betting Odds

Europe to Win - BET NOW

In terms of outright betting, the USA are firm 8/15 favourites to claim the spoils, and history has often favoured the hosts, with the home side winning six of the last seven Ryder Cups.

With all 12 players ranked 21st or better in the world, it is easy to see why the American outfit are fancied to win back the cup for the first time since their Hazeltine success in 2016.

However, Europe have often been the underdogs when it comes to the Ryder Cup, and they have managed to pull off some fantastic results in recent years. Priced at 2/1 to come out on top, Padraig Harrington's side could be worth a punt.

Ryder Cup Long Shot Prediction

Collin Morikawa - Top USA Player - BET NOW

Justin Thomas impressed on his Ryder Cup debut in 2018, taking four points from his five matches, and he is the 13/2 favourite to be USA's top points scorer, while Jordan Spieth is next in the betting at 15/2.

World number two Dustin Johnson, who is the oldest player in the team at 37, FedEx Cup champion Patrick Cantlay, and Xander Schauffele are also available at 15/2 to top their country's points list.

However, there is more value when looking further down the betting, and the name of Collin Morikawa at 9/1 jumps out. The 24-year-old might be a rookie, but he qualified first for the USA, and he has already shown his prowess on the biggest stage.

The world number three landed his maiden major at the 2020 US PGA Championship on what was just his third appearance in one of the 'Big Four' events before he then won The Open this July on his tournament debut.

For such a young player, Morikawa doesn't seem to be fazed by any challenge that comes his way and the way he began his PGA Tour career, making 22 consecutive cuts, a feat surpassed only by Tiger Woods' 25-cut streak, shows how much ability he has.

The Californian is arguably the best iron player in the game right now, and his calmness on the course makes him an ideal partner for any of his 11 teammates. It would be no surprise to see him feature in all five sessions, and he gets the nod to be the USA's top points scorer.

Sergio Garcia - Top European Player - BET NOW

World number one Jon Rahm is the 7/2 favourite to be Europe's top points scorer, but he missed the cut at last week's Fortinet Championship and then revealed he has been suffering from a stomach ailment.

Rory McIlroy, so often a leading presence for Europe when it comes to the Ryder Cup, is available at 11/2, while rookie Viktor Hovland is 15/2, and Englishman Tommy Fleetwood, a hero when going unbeaten in the pairs with Francesco Molinari in 2018, is priced at 8/1.

However, there is value when you go further down the list, and it is the name of Sergio Garcia that appeals at a generous 11/1! The Spaniard has played in no less than nine Ryder Cups, ending up on the winning team six times, and he is Europe's all-time leading points scorer with 25.5.

The 41-year-old heads into the event in good form, having recorded a T6 at the BMW PGA Championship before ending up T14 at the Tour Championship, although he was 10th at East Lake in 72 hole scores.

Garcia has scored at least two points on eight of his nine appearances, and the fact he was one of Harrington's three picks suggests he could have a big part to play over the three days of action. Expect him to feature in all five sessions.
