The 2020 Masters took place just six months ago but we return to the hallowed fairways of Augusta National Golf Club this week for another edition of the most revered of golf's Major championships, which is restored to its traditional April slot.
The Masters Golf Preview
Dustin Johnson streaked to a five-shot win in the November edition, beating Cameron Smith and Sungjae Im into second place at the Cathedral of Pines.
As ever, the longer hitters are at an advantage at Augusta National and the key to winning the Masters is to fire accurate approaches into the tricky bentgrass greens - a task made far easier if you can play from an advantageous position in the fairway.
The Masters Golf Betting Odds
Dustin Johnson tops the betting for the Masters with the world number one available at 9/1 in his bid to win the Green Jacket for the second time in six months.
DJ is followed at the head of the market by US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, who is available at 11/1, with Players champion Justin Thomas and Spanish star Jon Rahm both on offer at 12/1.
Jordan Spieth has rediscovered something close to his best form in 2021 and has been the biggest mover in the betting in recent weeks - the 2015 Masters winner is 14/1 to claim the Green Jacket for the second time. Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy, who is chasing the career Grand Slam again at Augusta, is 16/1.
The Masters Favourites
Only Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods have managed to defend the Masters in the last 50 years and Dustin Johnson arrives at Augusta National in the midst of a dip in form that is enough to temper any enthusiasm about his price.
The laidback Carolinian had finished no worse than sixth in six outings prior to his November win but his form in his last two stroke play events, 54th at the WGC-Workday and 48th at the Players, are less encouraging.
Bryson DeChambeau bombed out in November and while he ought to better his 34th-placed finish in 2020, there is no desire to side with the Californian brute.
Jon Rahm boasts Augusta form figures of 27-3-9-7 and has a big chance but Thomas has a progressive Masters profile and this looks a perfect fit.
The Masters Golf Prediction
Justin Thomas to win and each-way - BET NOW
Justin Thomas can be borderline unstoppable when his long game clicks and the Alabaman can continue his Augusta improvement and win a first Major title since he claimed the 2017 US PGA Championship.
Thomas was electric from tee to green at the Players Championship last month and boasts Masters form figures of 39-22-17-12-4. This is a course that typically takes a bit of knowing and JT has completed his Augusta apprenticeship.
One of the best wedge players in the game, if Thomas fires off the tee, as he did over the weekend at Sawgrass, he will take some stopping and, with most bookmakers offering generous enhanced place terms this week, he looks a rock-solid each-way bet.
Sergio Garcia to win and each-way - BET NOW
Experience counts for plenty at the Cathedral of Pines and Sergio Garcia, who ended his long wait for a Major by winning the Green Jacket in 2017, looks primed to go well.
Garcia has driven the ball remarkably well all year and looks fully in control of his stellar long game ahead of this trip down Magnolia Lane.
Sixth in Dubai, 12th in Saudi and ninth at the Players already this year, Garcia also made the quarter-finals of the WGC-Match Play on his last start and, if the putts drop, he looks a huge contender at a decent price.
Corey Conners to win and each-way - BET NOW
Corey Conners won the Texas Open on the eve of the 2019 Masters, earning a last-minute spot in the field and performing with great credit on debut, finishing 46th. He would return in November, improving once again to finish tenth.
The Canadian boasts one of the best tee-to-green games on the PGA Tour and has been in solid form all year, finishing third at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and seventh at the Players Championship. He looks a solid each-way option at a juicy price.
