BMW Championship Tips

- 10:09, 12th September 2017

It was a great week for Stuart Gatelan at the Omega European Masters last week. He tipped the winner Matthew Fitzpatrick at a big price of 30/1 and also tipped a Top 10 Finish at 3/1. With that win he now sits on a profit of £686 for the year and will be looking to break the £700 mark at this week’s BMW Championship. In this article Stuart will be picking out his best picks for the tournament.

BMW Championship Tips

Introduced in 2007, the BMW Championship was previously known as the Western Open and in 2012, 2013 and 2014, the PGA Tour named it their tournament of the year. In the 10 years it has been played over multiple courses and returns to the Conway Farms Golf Club in Illinois this year.

The return to this course will be a positive for JASON DAY and is one of the reasons I will be making him my main bet for the tournament. He finished 4th here in 2013 and was an emphatic winner back in 2015, winning by 6 strokes and setting a personal record of 61 (-10) on his opening round.

Jason hasn’t had the easiest of years with injuries and personal issues, but in recent tournaments he has started to show signs that his not far from being back to his best. His final round at the Dell Technologies Championship was very impressive; he was 7 under thru 10 holes but was too far behind from previous rounds to trouble the leaders.

He will surely be coming into this tournament full of confidence and if he can start how he finished at the Dell Technologies Championship there’s a good chance he will once again be the 1st Round Leader and be the one to catch.

My second and final pick for the BMW Championship is another past winner, ZACH JOHNSON. He won here in 2013 and finished 13th back in 2015, he obviously enjoys playing at this course and I think he could easily outplay his odds of 80/1.

Zach’s last win was back in 2015 where he won The Open at St Andrews in a playoff against Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman. Since then he has had 16 top 10 finishes and has been playing very consistently without winning.

A return to this course should inspire him with confidence and I’m taking a chance on him to finish within the placings. I think a Top 10 Finish at 6/1 looks a great bet!

If you use the Easyodds odds comparison service you are guaranteed to get the best odds on offer. For example, Zach Johnson to win is best priced at 50/1 with some bookmakers but using Easyodds you can get 80/1 meaning if you was to put £10 on you would get an extra £300 profit if he was to win.
