The European Tour makes a stop in Vilamoura this week for the Portugal Masters and James Mason has perused through the markets to pick out three interesting bets.

Portugal Masters Betting Odds

Lee Westwood to Win @ 30/1 - BET NOW

On Thursday, it will be exactly a month until the European Tour season is brought to a conclusion at the DP World Tour Championship, where the top-60 ranked players in the Race to Dubai standings will compete for the $3,000,000 prize.

With several of the world's highest-ranked players opting to skip the trip to Portugal, this week's event looks to be a wide-open affair and it is Englishman Matt Wallace that currently leads the betting at 9/1.

Germany's two-time major winner Martin Kaymer comes next at odds of 18/1, while England's Eddie Pepperell and Denmark's Lucas Bjerregaard are both priced at 20/1.

Defending champion Tom Lewis, who is the only player to win the tournament twice, is a 22/1 shot to retain his crown after his three-shot victory over Pepperell and Australian Lucas Herbert last year.

However, I have given the nod to one of the older statesmen in the field this week, former world number one Lee Westwood. The 46-year-old won this event back in 2009, holding off Italian Francesco Molinari by two shots, and his game is suited to the course.

Dom Pedro Victoria GC is 7,209 yards in length, so it is not designed for big hitters, but the numerous hazards make it perfect for somebody who is solid off the tee and razor-sharp with the irons.

Westwood, who is a 24-time winner on the European Tour, is 25th in greens in regulation this season but, more importantly, he is second in strokes gained: approach the green.

Interestingly, 16 of the Englishman's 24 European wins have come in the second half of the year, showing he hits his form later in the season, and he looks a big price to strike in Vilamoura for the second time.

Portugal Masters Outsider Tip

Guido Migliozzi to Win @ 60/1 - BET NOW

In terms of an each-way bet for an outsider, Guido Migliozzi looks ripe for the picking at 60/1. The Italian has landed his first two European Tour titles this year, triumphing at the Magical Kenya Open and Belgian Knockout.

The 22-year-old is 14th in strokes gained: off-the-tee, 26th in driving distance, ninth in strokes gained: approach-the-green and seventh in strokes gained: tee-to-green, all of which makes for impressive reading.

Portugal Masters Prediction

Oliver Fisher - First-Round Leader @ 125/1 - BET NOW

I always have a little flutter on the first-round leader market and that is no different this week, with Fisher getting the nod at massive odds of 125/1.

The 31-year-old made history during the second round of the 2018 Portugal Masters when he carded the European Tour's first sub-60 round, making 10 birdies and an eagle in his bogey-free display.

World number 442 Fisher may not have kicked on since that outing in Portugal, where he finished tied seventh, but he will be hoping to be a huge threat on his return to Vilamoura.

The Englishman obviously enjoys the course and is worth an each-way punt to be leading the way after the opening 18 holes.
