The three-ball groupings have been announced for the first two rounds of The Masters and our golf expert Warren Ashurst has been taking a look at the best bets for the first round.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat (14:47) @ 7/4 – BET NOW

The eighth group of day one offers one of the best looking bets of the first round, with the in-form Kiradech Aphibarnrat a good prospect to start well.
The man from Thailand has already won on the European Tour this year and showed his quality on the global scene when finishing tied for fifth at the WGC Mexico Championship last month.

Aphibarnrat made his Augusta debut last year and recorded a top-15 finish, which highlighted his liking for the course. The 28-year-old has been paired with American Pat Perez and Francesco Molinari of Italy, neither of whom have a great record in the opening major of the season.

Kyle Stanley (14:58) @ 11/8 – BET NOW

His record in the big-four events may be poor, but Kyle Stanley offers good value in his three-ball even though he is up against two major champions.
The man from Washington has shown a big improvement this season, recording three top-10 finishes and another couple of top-25s.
His share of 25th at the WGC Mexico Championship and joint-14th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational was a good indication of a player in form – in contrast he plays alongside two players completely out of form.

Danny Willett may have won the Green Jacket in 2016 but he missed the cut last year and still looks a shadow of his former self, while former US PGA Championship  winner Dufner has not recorded a top-10 finish yet this season.

Charley Hoffman (16:15) @ 7/4 – BET NOW

Charley Hoffman’s performances this season have been in and out, but he has shown signs recently that he could be returning to his best form.
He finished tied for 14th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last month, which included a second-round 66, and has enjoyed a break to prepare especially for The Masters.

Hoffman’s record at Augusta also sees me lean towards him in his three-ball, which also features Patrick Reed and Canada’s Adam Hadwin. The man from San Diego has played four times at the Georgia venue and has yet to finish outside the top-30 – his best finish being tied for ninth in 2015.
Reed in comparison has also played four times at Augusta and has missed the cut on two occasions, while Hadwin finished tied for 36th on his first appearance last year.

Fred Couples (17:10) @ 8/5 – BET NOW

The 1992 winner has a phenomenal record at Augusta, with 10 other top-10 finishes and the 58-year-old ended up in a share of 18th last year.
Couples could almost play the course with his eyes closed and still shoot level par, while in stark contrast his playing partners are Haotong Li and amateur Joaquin Niemann – neither of whom has ever played at The Masters before.
The American veteran showed in 2017 he can still mix it with the best and even though Li is one to watch in the future, Couples looks like the bet in the present.
