After taking a break due to the Olympics in Tokyo, the PGA Tour will once again take centre stage this week, with the world's best golfers heading to Memphis for the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

TPC Southwind will be the venue for the third WGC event of the year and there will be a high-quality field in attendance, with US Open champion Jon Rahm the only player currently sitting in the top 10 of the world rankings to miss out.

Defending champion Justin Thomas, Open winner Collin Morikawa and newly-crowned Olympic gold medallist Xander Schauffele will be among the 78-strong field that will tee off for their opening rounds on Thursday, and with it being a no-cut event, it looks set to be an intriguing and high-quality four days of golf.

WGC-FedEx St Jude Invitational Betting Odds

It is no surprise to see Brooks Koepka heading the outright markets at 12/1, with the four-time major winner boasting an enviable record at TPC Southwind, as not only has he won the event before - doing so in 2019 - but he has also twice finished runner-up and claimed a third-place finish during his six previous visits to the venue.

Fresh from their respective Open and Olympic triumphs, American duo Morikawa and Schauffele can both be backed at 14/1 to continue that winning feeling, while Thomas, who claimed his second title in Memphis 12 months ago, is available at 18/1 alongside world number two Dustin Johnson.

Scottie Scheffler to win - BET NOW

Further down the betting, Scottie Scheffler will be hoping he can defy his 30/1 odds and finally break his PGA Tour duck this week.

The 25-year-old only turned professional three years ago, but he he has already claimed top-20 finishes in all four majors, while he has seven top-10 placings to his name in 2021, most notably finishing runner-up at the last WGC event in March.

It certainly only feels like a matter of time before Scheffler claims his first PGA Tour title, but if it's not his time, then the value bet could be backing him to secure another top-10 placing at 23/10.

WGC-FedEx St Jude Invitational Prediction

Brooks Koepka to win - BET NOW

It is difficult to look beyond 2019 champion Koepka regaining his crown given his affinity with TPC Southwind, while he has not had the same travelling commitments as many of his rivals who were in action at the Olympics.

Koepka also has four top-six finishes to his name from his last five starts, although there is the potential for his momentum to have been dampened, as he has not played since the Open Championship in the middle of last month.

Jordan Spieth top-five finish - BET NOW

Beyond Koepka, expect other players that were not involved in the Olympics to be at the sharp end of the leaderboard, with Jordan Spieth likely to perform well.

Spieth has been a picture of consistency this year, securing seven top-five finishes since February, but he has only turned one of those into a victory.

It could be a case of so close yet so far for Spieth once again this week, but the 28-year-old can be backed at 7/2 to secure a top-five finish.
