Both Newbury and Newmarket have two-day meetings this weekend and Alex Jack has been poured over both cards to bring us his racing tips for Friday.

Newbury 2.55

Saroog to Win and Each-way @ 4/1 - BET NOW

The stayers’ handicap on the card at Newbury is a fascinating affair and it might be worth keeping with Saroog in the four-year-old’s hat-trick bid.

Simon Crisford’s charge has been going from strength-to-strength this campaign as he’s stepped up in trip and he proved a two length Goodwood maiden win was no fluke when bolting up on handicap debut last time out at Sandown, winning by three lengths and had a fair bit in hand at the line.

This son of Nathaniel has won his last two starts off top-weight, so carrying 10st won’t be an issue here and he gets Ryan Moore for company in the saddle, the jockey who rode him to a career-best success last time out.

The gelding has been at his best on fast ground this year, so he may not want any rain to fall but he should go close here if conditions remain dry and it’s highly likely there’s more progress on the card for this talented stayer.

Cliffs Of Dover is “well in” at the weights here after a facile success at Haydock Park last time out and he rates as the main danger to the selection.

Officially due to go up 5lb further when the handicapper has his say, he still looks very well-handicapped on the best of his hurdles form but there’s no chance his rivals will give him such an easy time on the front end in this contest and the drop back in trip isn’t in the five-year-old’s favour here.

Newbury 3.30

Implicit to Win and Each-way @ 12/1 - BET NOW

The Listed sprint contest for fillies is the feature race on the Newbury card and there’s plenty to like about the claims of Implicit in her bid for a four-timer.

The filly was impressive when defying a penalty at Chelmsford last time when a winner by two and three-quarter lengths and she would appear well worth a crack at some Black Type given the roll she’s on at present.

James Tate does well with his young fillies, often squeezing out more improvement when it looks like they’re fully exposed and this daughter of Kodiac makes each-way appeal at her double figure price.

Newmarket 8.05

Argentello to Win and Each-way @ 11/2 - BET NOW

The finale on the Newmarket card looks like the best betting race of the day and Argentello makes plenty of each-way appeal.

The son of Intello seemingly doesn’t know how to run a bad race, and he is yet to finish outside of the first three in each of his six starts. Too keen in his hat-trick bid over course and distance last time out, he’s capable of leaving that effort behind here for a yard that are flying at present with six winners from their last 25 runners.
