Oighear Dubh to Win and Each-Way @ 8/1 - BET NOW

Eugene O’Sullivan’s charge has been kept busy in recent months, having had six starts since winning a 16- runner handicap chase over 2m4f on good going at Tipperary in July.

The selection employed his usual hold-up tactics under jockey Maxine O’Sullivan on that occasion and he has acquitted himself well, mostly under similar tactics since then.

The best of his recent efforts is likely his 6L third in a competitive 10-runner 2m5f handicap chase at Fairyhouse (good) two weeks ago, while he ran a creditable race when placed third in a small field over an extended 2m3f at Limerick (good) the following day.

The son of Verglas won a point-to-point over 3m last season, while he has also run well over that trip since going back under Rules, finishing third under Friday’s rider in a 3m handicap hurdle at Clonmel (good) at the start of this month.

The forecast good ground looks likely to suit the selection and he is taken to register a second chase victory under his promising amateur rider.

Lola’s Theme to Win and Each-way @ 6/1 - BET NOW

Trainer Tom Dascombe has his string in good form currently and the Cheshire handler comes into this contest with a 22 per cent strike-rate (7/32) in recent weeks.

The trainer's representative in this nursery handicap is dual winner Lola’s Theme, who was the shock 100/1 winner of a 1m novice stakes on soft going at Haydock last month.

Since then, the daughter of Iffraaj has finished a good second in a handicap over the same distance at Pontefract (good), while she followed that handicap debut effort up with a victory in a valuable 1m nursery at York (soft) last time out.

Raised 4lb for that most recent victory, the selection should be suited by the forecast good-to-soft going while any rain that may arrive between now and race-time would enhance her chances with stable jockey Richard Kingscote taking the ride for the first time since partnering the filly on debut at Wolverhampton back in August.

Franz Kafka to Win and Each-way @ 5/4 - BET NOW

Trainer John Gosden saddled Franz Kafka to a good third when making his debut in a 1m novice contest at Newmarket (good) earlier this month.

The Newmarket handler also sent out the winner Turgenev that day and that particular horse is set to step up in class to contest a Group 1 race over 1m at Doncaster on Saturday.

Franz Kafka himself was held up that day and shaped as if he would benefit from the experience. Ultimately beaten by seven-and-a-half lengths, the selection is a half-brother to black-type performer Kazimiera, while he represents a stable with a 27 per cent strike-rate (13/49) at present.

With the above in mind he looks a solid bet to get off the mark at the second time of asking in this 15-runner novice stakes.
