With seven meetings set to take place today, including the first day of the July meeting, we have selections from Carlisle, Newbury and Epsom.
Oud Metha Bridge to Win and Each-Way @ 5/2 - BET NOW
The selection has been in decent form so far this year, finishing in the first three on each of his six starts since joining this yard for the 2018 campaign.
The most recent of those efforts came when finishing third over this 1m trip on the all-weather at Newcastle at the start of last month.
Given a break since he looks to be a leading contender here and having finished third on his most recent outing on turf at Yarmouth (good-to-firm) in April he looks capable of taking advantage of his turf mark which is 14lb lower than his all-weather equivalent.
That Yarmouth effort marked the son of Helmet’s best effort in five starts on turf thus far and his current mark in this sphere is 7lb lower than the mark off which he won at Kempton in February.
Versatile in terms of tactics, useful amateur Rose Birkett takes over in the saddle and he can improve on his 20 per cent strike-rate (2/10) when teaming up with trainer Julia Fielden at this venue in recent seasons.
Inner Circle to Win and Each-Way @ 3/1 – BET NOW
Trainer Roger Fell has been in good form in recent weeks and he comes into this contest with a 36 per cent strike-rate (8/22) in the last two weeks.
His representative here, Inner Circle, has put in some good efforts so far this season, placing on four of his six outings to date including when finishing a close third over 7f at Redcar (good-to-firm) last time out.
That particular contest was a markedly better affair than he contests here and while he was unplaced the time before, the 1m1f trip that day appeared to stretch his stamina while the application of cheekpieces for the first time probably didn’t have the intended effect.
The 7f trip here should be right up his street having placed on all three 7f starts since joining this yard, including off a mark 4lb higher than he races off here when in action at Ayr in May.
This contest represents the lowest grade race that the son of Choisir has run in since joining this stable and he holds strong claims of registering a second career success with the trip and forecast underfoot conditions both in his favour.
Seprani to Win and Each-Way @ 13/2 - BET NOW
With a few front runners in this contest the race may well be set up for Marco Botti’s Seprani.
The selection usually races from off the pace and having finished in the frame on his last two starts he has shown he comes into this event in good form.
The most recent of those placed efforts came when finishing third over 5f at Doncaster last week and while this contest is over an extra furlong, he has won over course and distance in the past having registered a victory off a 1lb lower mark on good ground here last August.
