All of Tuesday’s meetings come on the Flat and we have selections and analysis from three of the day’s best races.

15:30 Chelmsford City

Wissahickon to Win and Each-way 2/1 @ BET NOW

The Class 2 contest on all-weather looks like the best of the action on Tuesday and there’s a runner who ought to be able to justify favouritism.

Trainer John Gosden and his stable jockey Frankie Dettori have a remarkable strike-rate of nearly 38% when teaming up at Chelmsford and it’s particularly interesting that the Italian makes his way across to Essex with only one ride in his book.

The suspicion is that Dettori wouldn’t be making the effort to turn up at the course for one ride on a Tuesday afternoon if Wissahickon wasn’t expected to leave his form from Newmarket last time well behind here.

A winner of three of his four previous starts, the gelding never looked like justifying favouritism at HQ when far too keen throughout the early stages and refusing to settle.

However, there was enough to like about his previous efforts to give him another chance here and he already has two wins on all-weather surfaces and a course and distance second to his name when two lengths behind Lucky Deal here in September.

Hold up performers aren’t always seen to their best at Chelmsford but there’s enough pace in this contest with the likes of Juneau and Three Weeks in the line up to think they will go a decent clip here in this five-runner contest and provided he gets cover and settles better, the son of Tapit is expected to be a hard colt to beat.

The unexposed Blue Mist rates as the main danger and Roger Charlton’s gelding shaped like he would appreciate the step up in trip on his last couple of starts. An opening mark of 87 is no gimme though and he must improve on handicap debut here.

19:05 Nottingham

Blue De Vega To Win 3/1 @ BET NOW

In the Conditions race at Nottingham on Tuesday evening, Blue De Vega looks like the value bet in a tight race.

Robert Cowell has seemingly found the key to the five-year-old after an impressive Ascot success over the minimum trip last time and this well-bred gelding is taken to build on that here back in conditions company.

The owners retained jockey Oisin Murphy takes the ride, and he could improve again to defy joint top-weight.

16:45 Ffos Las

Sharka Silk to Win and Each-way 3/1 @ BET NOW

Sharja Silk is bred to be better than his rivals here and he’s been slowly working his way into form for Roger Varian.

A return to softer ground looks sure to be in his favour after a good second at Sandown in June and a repeat of the sort of form should see him go close here.

His propensity to miss the break isn’t ideal but it’s less of an issue over this sort of trip and there’s no obvious front-runner in the line.
