There are two grade one events to kick the Grand National meeting off with the Doom Bar Aintree Hurdle the highlight at 3.05 with the National events in action for the first time with the Fox Hunters Chase at 3.40.
2.00 - Aintree -ACTIVIAL missed the Triumph Hurdle to run here and with loads of speed at his disposal the youngster should prove too strong for Calipto and Guitar Pete.
2.30 - Aintree - Despite having quite a hard race in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, SILVINIACO CONTI is taken to bounce back and thus follow up his King George VI victory at Kempton Park. Ryanair Chase hero Dynaste looks his biggest rival.
3.05 - Aintree - He may well be a very short price but it is hard to see beyond THE NEW ONE after his unfortunate run in the Champion Hurdle and he should dispose of this field with aplomb.
3.40 - Aintree - I am not prepared to play at 2/1 on Mossey Joe so the value is to take the Irish raider on with the second favourite WARNE after he gamely beat Seabass last time out at Fairyhouse.
4.15 - Aintree - CHANGING THE GUARD was never happy at Ludlow last time out after jumping left all the way around and is worth an each-way wager here to see off the likes of Claret Cloak and Parsnip Pete.
4.50 - Aintree - OSCAR WHISKY never got a chance to shine at Cheltenham, falling at the opening obstacle. On his previous form he should start favourite here and may have too much speed for the Arkle hero Western Warhorse.
5.25 - Aintree - CANTLOW has been rather hit and miss over fences, but the nine-year-old is still feasibly handicapped over hurdles and will relish the three mile trip around this tight track.
