A huge day of racing with the last real Cheltenham Festival Trials’ day headlined by the Betfair card at Newbury and some top class racing at Warwick as well. Here are the views of Angus Loughran on Saturday’s TV races.
1.50 – Newbury – ANDY KELLY was desperately unlucky not to win at Ascot last time out and can return to winning ways here in a race which will suit his style of racing.
BET NOW – ANDY KELLY
2.25 – Newbury – A small, but select field for this renewal of the Denman Chase and a last chance is given to KATENKO returning to the scene of his fall in the Hennessy when he was travelling smoothly at the time.
BET NOW - KATENKO
3.00 – Newbury – MODULE comes here a very fresh horse compared to his rivals and a stamina taxing two miles with the ground sure to be deep will suit him in preference to the novice Dodging Bullets.
3.35 – Newbury – This looks a really good Betfair Hurdle and the ground will be a huge factor which is why I am tipping CHELTENIAN on only his fourth start over timber. I also expect huge runs from Vendor and Irish Saint.
BET NOW – CHELTENIAN
2.05 – Warwick – Although Hidden Identity is better off at the weights with GLENS MELODY on their course run four weeks ago but this extra yardage should suit the Irish raider.
BET NOW – GLENS MELODY
2.40 – Warwick – I loved the way the Paul Nicholls’ trained VALCO DE TOUZAINE jumped at Haydock and a similar round here could see him beat Brick Red and company.
