It's the penultimate afternoon at Glorious Goodwood on Friday and the main attraction will be Battaash's bid to win a fourth successive King George Qatar Stakes (15:15), but we have delved into three other races on the card to provide some tips.
There are eight races on the card at the Sussex Downs venue from 13:10 through until 16:55 and our expert tipster has got three to follow across the fourth day of the prestigious festival.
Valeria Messalina to win and each-way - BET NOW
The obvious starting point for the Saint Clair Oak Tree Stakes is One Master, a dual winner of the Prix de la Foret in France at the top level and coming to this after a one-length fourth in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket. She brings Group 1 form into this Fillies' And Mares' Group 3 contest and needs a great deal of respecting.
As an alternative to the likely favourite, however, there may be some mileage in Jessica Harrington's raiding three-year-old Valeria Messalina. She was anything but disgraced on her seasonal return in what is working out to be a strong renewal of the Irish 1,000 Guineas and she has since stepped up on that to win in this grade at Cork over this 7f trip.
Last year's Oh So Sharp Stakes second to Rose Of Kildare took a boost when that rival won the Musidora at York recently and, on only her fifth start, this Holy Roman Emperor filly is likely to improve again.
Frankie Dettori takes the ride and, having teamed up with Harrington to great effect at Royal Ascot, a big run is forecast with the 3YO allowance to aid their cause.
Pablo Escobarr to win and each-way - BET NOW
The L'Ormarins Queen's Plate Glorious Stakes looks to be wide open on paper. Last year's winner Desert Encounter, Communique and Alounak are separated only by 1lb on official ratings and all are entitled to fair claims if putting their best feet forward today.
William Haggas has his team in super order right now and with Tom Marquand featuring prominently amongst the winners at this meeting, Pablo Escobarr could run a big race.
His second to Lord North at Newmarket in November now looks rather smart and both efforts this term have been solid. The return to 1m4f looks a positive and, being a Goodwood winner earlier in his career, he should be right at home up on the frontend around this track. He wouldn't be out of place winning in this grade.
Ventura Diamond to win and each-way - BET NOW
A fillies' maiden to round out the afternoon and some interesting newcomers in the form of Enoughisgoodenough, Meu Amor and Beautiful News. Ralph Beckett's £300,000 breeze-up purchase is one to keep tabs on but Ventura Diamond can make the most of experience to claim this.
She finished two-lengths fourth behind Miss Jingles on debut at Sandown despite not getting the best start. That form was well advertised by the winner here on Wednesday and there should be plenty more to come from Richard Fahey's Dandy Man filly, who looks sure to benefit from this extra furlong.
She was well found in the betting on debut, suggesting she'd been showing up well at home and the booking of champion jockey Oisin Murphy now hints that a step forward will be forthcoming. She's got plenty scope and is fancied over the more exposed Sarsaparilla, the forecast favourite.
