The best of the Flat action comes from Ripon and Windsor on Monday and we have selections and analysis from three of the races.
Dominating to Win and Each Way @ 7/1 - BET NOW
Dominating has been operating in Class 2 company in recent starts but he can make his presence felt back down in a Class 4 race at Ripon on Monday afternoon.
Mark Johnston’s charge wasn’t seen to best effect, slowly away in the marathon event at Goodwood with the unusual flip start, the four-year-old made some good late headway without being involved in the finish. However, that was an odd race with a runaway leader and he should be seen to better effect back over this sort of trip.
The rain has also come in the gelding’s favour here, likely to have plenty of cut in the ground with overnight showers forecast and he looked progressive when he had his conditions throughout his 2017 campaign.
Back down on a workable mark having been campaigned on ground that was probably on the quick side for him this year, he finds himself 4lb lower than he was when winning at Pontefract in October.
Usually a prominent racer, the selection should benefit from the booking of Franny Norton in the saddle and it often pays to be close to the pace at Ripon, particularly on the round course where it’s hard to make up ground. At odds of 7/1, he represents decent each-way value with just 10 runners in the field.
Stormin Tom heads the market but he arrives on a career high handicap mark here and all his very best form has come on a quicker surface than what the six-year-old is likely to get in this contest.
Lily Ash to Win and Each Way @ 5/1 - BET NOW
In the finale on the card at Ripon, it’s a surprise to see Lily Ash available to back at odds of around 5/1 after the mare’s dominant performance at Yarmouth last time out.
She may have only lost her maiden tag that day, but there was plenty to like about the manner of the success and a 4lb rise could prove to be on the lenient side from the assessor.
With the yard in excellent form in recent weeks with a couple of winners from six runners, she gets the talented Theodore Ladd for company here and if her young jockey can get a decent position from her wide draw (10), she ought to prove hard to beat.
Show Of Force to Win and Each Way @ 15/2 - BET NOW
Johnny Portman is enjoying plenty of success this season and Show Of Force returned to form with a bang at Chepstow last time out.
The filly has won off similar marks in the past and she seems like a progressive sort than will carry on improving for this yard.
Jockey Rob Hornby will be high on confidence after five wins from his last 25 rides and his mount should give him a good spin here at an each-way price.
