With six meetings due to take place, we have a selection in Ireland, one from Newcastle and an evening all-weather tip at Wolverhampton.

13:35 Newcastle

Late Romantic to Win and Each Way @ 7/2 - BET NOW

Oliver Greenall’s Late Romantic looked an improved performer last point-to-point season when in the care of Dan Astbury and he showed that he could be a force back under Rules when running a big race prior to unseating his rider before the last hurdle off a mark of 110 over an extended 2m7f at Uttoxeter on heavy going in April.

Whether he’d have won that day or not is another matter, but it was hard to see him outside of the frame and a rise of 7lb for that effort doesn’t look overly harsh given the front two looked to have the race between them that day. The selection has yet to run over fences but represents a useful yard. Receiving weight from all of his rivals in this novices’ handicap chase, he is taken to get off the mark at the first attempt in chases, with a good jockey in Will Kennedy booked to ride.

Madame Jo Jo to Win and Each Way @ 15/2 - BET NOW

The selection returned from a break when finishing a good half-length third in a competitive course-and-distance handicap early last month. Prior to that the three-year-old had been plying her trade on the turf in the main this summer and numbers some respectable efforts, most notably when runner-up in a four-horse good-to-firm ground event at Chepstow in July among her turf performances.

While she is a 19-race maiden, Steph Hollinshead’s filly has recorded three placed efforts at this venue and has a decent record when partnered by today’s jockey Gabriel Malune, placing on three of her four starts under this pilot, including last time out. A 1lb rise for that latest effort shouldn’t be enough to stop her running well and she looks to be worth an each-way bet back at her favourite venue, with a fair draw in stall number seven.

Flawless Escape to Win and Each Way @ SP - BET NOW

Trainer Gordon Elliott boasts a strong hand in the novice chase division as has so often been the case in recent years and his Flawless Escape may be one to have snuck under the radar. The selection is making his debut over fences here but ran well when winning a maiden hurdle over 2m4f on soft ground at Leopardstown last December and followed that up with a good third behind a well-handicapped rival in a competitive 3m handicap contest on soft going at the same venue in February.

While the grey disappointed at Cheltenham over an extended 2m4f in March on his final start of the campaign, he shapes as if he will make up into a nice chaser and with the talented but frustrating Any Second Now (placed four times in six chase starts) in opposition, the son of Sagamix is taken to make a winning debut over fences, with Davy Russell a good jockey booking for the five-year-old.
